This is NOT true. Stop thinking Facebook, Twitter, and Google are "the internet".

The Internet is as free as it ever was, it's just that STUPID people confine themselves to Facebook, Twitter, and Google - you know, the intelligence agencies.

I knew a lot of professional photographers who would develop all their pictures in black and white back in the 80's

That's kind of bizarre. In 1985, I was 14, and the look of black and white always, and still does, make me think the photograph was done on the cheap or was done a long time ago.

I have family films from 1950's that are in color - no sound though.

I would always think to myself why they would do that since color pictures look way better. I'm younger than you (I was 11 in 1985) and every time I asked why, I wouldn't be taken seriously so I never got a straight answer.
