The purpose of 5G is to reduce transmission time. In communication we use time slices - you transmit data in a very short period of time, and then somebody else has a time slice. That's TDMDA. The faster the transmission, the less time you spend on the network to transmit data - as a result more people can share the network. What you speak into a cell phone is slightly delayed, before it is transmitted. About a 0.5 second delay.

Nothing mysterious about it. Shaped waveforms allows people to share the network (for outgoing signals) simultaneously. Basically, YOU get the signal, not the entire neighborhood, and as a result somebody else can receive transmission as you are receiving yours in the same cell network. It increases communication, your phone doesn't do shaped waveforms, as far as I know.

I worked in this field. I'm trying to tell you how this works. None of the concepts are difficult, the implementation is hard though. For implementation it deals with wave cancellation, and there's more math than I understand. You can make a directed signal on a flat dish, by pushing out the frequency at varying times. This is how StarLink works. I understand the fundamentals of the math, but the implementation... That's very hard for me to understand.
