I know it's a classic but I've lost my ability to have suspension of disbelief. The premise is silly, the USSR could have never invaded the United States. The USSR didn't have the manpower or the money. The US couldn't invade the United States either.

During the cold war, the US undermined Russia by manipulating oil prices low, and telling the truth through Radio Free America about the Soviet government. Russia is now doing this to the United States. Did you ever imagine the United States would be censoring "Russian propaganda"? It's silly and now our government is calling anything that is true, but embarrassing, "Russian propaganda", which is undermining our own government.

The fact that our government calls true information "Russian propaganda" tells me the end is near. It keeps the current assholes in power for a little bit, but then it's later discovered the US government lied, and so the NEXT time they do it, they are not believed.

We got the "40 children beheaded", it didn't take more than a few hours after that I heard "oh yes, and babies are being left on the cold floor, and incubators are being stolen too, I bet!". It doesn't take more than a few hours before people are openly mocking the government.

In Red Dawn the Soviets nuke the big coastal cities and invade middle America. If you can go with that premise it is an entertaining movie with some good lessons.

China or Russia can't invade America because America is an ideal. Freedom of speech, religion, association and the right to defend yourself. A system of laws not of men. America is an ideal that should spread throughout the world. But first it must be reestablished in these United States.
