Send non-citizens home. Population is instantly reduced substantially; further, population will gradually reduce in the future as deaths outpace births. With lower population and decreasing population, housing prices will drop ... dramatically. No new housing is needed. In fact, less-desirable living accommodations and/or less desirable living areas (Florida swamp, Arizona desert, etc) could be demolished and returned to nature over time.

Promote factory-built housing to drive development costs down. Fannie Mae rolled out a program in 2018 to treat some high-end manufactured homes the same as standard housing, and Freddie Mac launched a similar initiative in 2019.

Woah! Talk about Red Flags! This is exactly why I say I hope the world never returns to the Gold Standard. Because all our houses would be owned by the Big Mill in town, and if you lose your job at the mill. You'll be out on your ass.

This idea is worth a Revolutionary War or a Civil war to resist. We're full commie hates us and wants us to burn in hell, the day that becomes a reality.

Factory built houses or houses built by the factory you work for?

Anyway that Article is full of Shit with a Capital Horse Shit, the Dog Shit is silent.

Never once talks about building new towns in America. More typical build a Snow Globe and live above the Starbucks bullshit. Almost every solution in that list. Was part of a strategy to turn every major City in every Red State, a Blue Anchor to shit on the rest of the State to make sure they all vote California.

We need new towns in America. Not more mass in our already over crowded towns. That weren't designed to be so big.

At least with new towns, they can be planned out and scaling in the future can be considered in the layout.

There's just too many mother fuckers in LA, SF, NYC, Miami FL, Chicago, Las Vegas, and many other towns that has housing storage and has run out of room. They need to get the fuck out, and the median house price in America needs to fall about 30% to 50%. You're not entitled to my kid's future.

A lot of Boomers have their wealth tied up in their homes. They could take a reverse mortgage out, but the companies offering it will stop doing so as soon a they see that writing on the wall as you describe.

That's true, but keeping prices propped up is funding the Boomers' retirements on the backs of the subsequent generations. So the younger generations are supposed to pay generously into social security and medicare (and receive little or nothing in return) AND also buy exorbitantly prices (and taxed) houses that won't go up any further? Sounds like young people are supposed to lose all around so that the Boomers can retire comfortably.

"Boomers" as a whole do not have the power to do that. Banks and taxing authorities are the biggest supporters of high home prices.

Get rid of all lgbt crazies, and society will refocus on its survival and preservation.

Exactly. There is no "housing shortage/crisis" in the country as a whole, therefore no Federal involvement is necessary.

Whenever you hear about LA considering 'affordable' housing, aka 1200-1400 sq. ft. condos, the estimates always come in at $450,000 per unit. That's how much graft is baked in. REALLY? Those prices would build 3000 sq. ft suburban mansions on a third acre anywhere else in the country.

Add the "Insta Ghetto" provisions for new apartments, to make sure every body feels the ghetto love, how are you going to get neighborhoods who even want to approve developments? If the government isn't footing the bill (our tax money for their get out the ghetto free lottery) for these people's rent and living expenses, they have to move away. in the meantime, they gang-banger the local grammar and high schools.

California school system anyway has become a growth industry dependent on stuffing more illegals into the system to justify Teacher's Union politics and grifty graft.

Nothing higher taxes can't cure.
