As late as August 30 NOAA was projecting tropical force winds hitting Alabama. It's hard to find because most media outlets are trying to bury it to make the president look bad. Here's the link to the story I found with the info: https://heavy.com/news/2019/08/hurricane-dorian-map-live-tracker/

I'm attaching the graphic as well so you can still see the graphic after they remove the story.

It's amazing to read the tweets and see people talking about this being a big crime, so obviously this media trick worked well.
https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1169300628000124929

I'll need to add this to my list of ways the media lies without technically telling a lie. eg, usually they leave out pertinent details, making the likely interpretation of the story change. In this case, it's a time trick - I bet a lot of people are reacting to this today and yesterday, looking at the path on the map, and knowing from other sources that the current location / path is headed north along the coast. So, the news convinced people that this data was fresh, not stale, and effectively makes him look like a crazy liar because the path is totally wrong. The truth is that the path made sense at the time he said it. Hell if you watch the video on twitter he even says the storm took a right up along the coast.
8   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Sep 5, 10:31am

Not only that, but those are only projections of the path. There's something like a 1/3 chance the hurricane will actually be outside the projections. Further, look at the direction predicted ... it's not like the hurricane will suddenly just stop instantly. It could certainly still be a tropical storm by the time it rolls into Alabama.

I think it's great that Trump is remembering something. Really.

But if he's remembering the forecast from 5 days earlier, and says something inaccurate about the current forecast, which is different than the one five days ago - you know, the current far more accurate prediction of what's going to happen. But now he's gone and said something that's not what the current forecast says - so he draws it in on the current forecast ?

What ? Trump somehow prefers the 5 days ago forecast so much that he draws it on the current one ?

What is it ? Is he just stupid ? Or is it he has friends in Alabama that he hopes to get in on that sweet sweet disaster money ?

Yeah, you're probably right. Nothing to see here. Just the libbies bending over backwards to paint Trump as a fool.

Is there some avenue that could have gotten AL paid even if the storm didnt actually hit?

I wonder if the WaPo lists this as the 10,001st Trump "Lie".

When he decided that what he remembered from a forecast days earlier (from same people giving him the current more accurate forecast), was better info than the current one, and that he needed to amend the current one, I would agree that that probably not technically a lie.

But I'm not sure that reflects very well on him.

I don't believe people think it's a big crime. It's just another sign of how clueless the guy is.

And it's meme fodder.

The Alabama National Guard posted a statement on August 30 to Twitter that it was preparing for a possible hit by Hurricane Dorian. At that time Dorian was projected to cross the Florida peninsula and enter the Gulf of Mexico along the Florida panhandle, hitting Alabama and Georgia.

he Guard posted this statement and photo collage, “#HurricaneDorian is projected to reach southern Alabama by the early part of the week. We are watching closely and #ready to act. Are you?”

https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2019/09/05/cnn-map-mislabels-alabama-as-mississippi-in-hurricane-dorian-coverage/

CNN erroneously labeled Alabama as Mississippi during its weekend coverage of Hurricane Dorian — an error for which White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham mocked the left-wing network Thursday.
The network presented the graphic Sunday as part of a segment regarding Dorian’s path as it inches up the United States’ East Coast. The hurricane, which killed at least 20 people in the Bahamas in recent days, is presently lashing the Carolinas as a Category 2 storm.

Grisham pointed out CNN’s error on Twitter, writing: “Hi @CNN, I know you guys are busy analyzing lines on a map, but perhaps you use your time to study up on U.S. geography?”

CNN responded directly to Grisham’s taunt, saying: “Thanks, Stephanie. Yes, we made a mistake (which we fixed in less than 30 seconds). And now we are admitting it. You all should try it sometime.”

President of the Imperial Galactic Government

"The President is very much a figurehead - he wields no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it.

An orange sash is what the President of the Galaxy traditionally wears.

On those criteria Zaphod Beeblebrox Donald Trump is one of the most successful Presidents the Galaxy US has ever had."

Trump tweeted Sunday morning that Alabama could be hit. The forecast that I posted was from 2, not 5 days previous of that statement. Although the 5 day exaggeration is just the fallback media lie they went to after Trump showed the charts, although they also are giving him a lot of crap about some sharpie marks.

I'm more responding to the lies in your original article you posted like:

"Since Sunday morning, President Trump has warned that Alabama could be hit by Hurricane Dorian, though the National Hurricane Center never issued such a forecast"

Which I just proved to be false, although the media will never admit it.

What's worse, Trump mentioning Alabama might be hit based on a few days old weather forecast or the media lying, obfuscating, and bending over backwards to make him look foolish.

Don't they realize they look like frivolous idiots desperately attempting to distort reality to prove #OrangeManBad?
