He's the only one with enough money to make a run, that's for sure.

His odds just jumped 7¢ today. Now he's trading at 10¢ on PredictIt.com, putting him ahead of Hillary.

Are you going to trust Bloomberg to stand up to the investment bankers on Wall Street?

I think not.

Exactly: the guy is a fucking donkey after all.

So who is your guy or gal in the Democrat's primary then?

While I'm no fan of Wall Street, I do have investments, so I don't think he would be a negative there for me. He's definitely not as bat shit crazy as Warren or Sanders. Although his whole soda thing in NYC was utter stupidity. Not saying he stands a chance of beating Trump, but IF he were to win, I could at least live with Bloomberg. And wouldn't throw what will end up being a 4 year (probably 8 year) temper tantrum like the left has about Trump.

Let him steal some votes from Biden, who cares?
10   Ceffer   2019 Nov 10, 2:26pm

He just wants to grab Tulsi after the debates.

YEP!

If he gains any kind of traction, the Far Left will have a flip out.

He will need to get in line.

Like Trump, his wealth makes him unbribeable. May not like his policies, but he will not be setting up a graft bucket like Biden, Pelosi, Shiff, et al.

Yup. He has some weird issues he's taken up, but I actually fear him less than most the current Dem's running. Not an endorsement by any means. Really just a note on the huge dumpster fire going on for the Dems that someone looking to ban soda is more electable. Who would've thought how much we've progressed? lol.

At least he’s a businessman

Still a politician though. He's a mixed breed businessman and politician. Definitely better than a career politician though, I'll give him that. Although his voice is grating. I think people outside of NYC will dislike him immediately.
17   Shaman   2019 Nov 25, 10:04am

I’ll be surprised if he gets much traction. All the cool D candidates are super Left right now. And most people outside NYC know very little about him.
18   rocketjoe79   2019 Nov 25, 10:10am

He's reserved $31 million in TV ads already. We'll see if money can buy votes. Hey, it worked for JFK. Oh, wait, that was actual cash to people in the south! My bad. Never actually proven...

Which is retarded. Young voters don't know him and they don't watch TV. Congrats to the networks on separating Bloomberg from his money. lol. Boomers are dropping like flies, so not sure the point of the TV ad buy.
20   Shaman   2019 Nov 25, 10:15am

Yah that tv ad thing worked so well for Tom Steyer...

A lot of Trump Voters in red states might be convinced that some of the right wing propaganda Hannity has been feeding them is bullshit.

Huh? It's demographics with regards to advertising. The biggest portion/generation of the population currently doesn't watch TV. We don't watch Hannity and we don't watch CNN.

Are you supporting Bloomberg pissing away $31M? Is he your guy? Besides the ad buy, he probably becomes an immediate front runner for Dems. Being from IL I can't claim to know much about him besides his headline soda/sugar BS. I'll give him a chance though since what is available currently in the Dem field, is absolute shit. I give them all a chance as an independent.

Another damned Yankee running.
More on topic, he is a micromanager and thinks that OMNIPOTENT STATE! has to decide everything as evidenced by his time as a NYC mayor.
24   EBGuy   2019 Nov 25, 11:12am

Muh Big Gulp!
25   Shaman   2019 Nov 25, 11:13am

I saw his ad on tv this morning during the local news broadcast. Was exactly what I thought it would be: talking about 9/11 (even though he wasn’t mayor then), promising that he would be for working Americans, and saying rich people would pay more taxes. He also promised healthcare for all, but “if you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare.” It was eerily similar to Obama’s infamous LIE.
Overall I was totally unimpressed. He offered nothing new, no new ideas, just himself as a new candidate like we needed more of those.
Gonna give his ad a giant MEH!
26   FortwayeAsFuckJoeBiden   2019 Nov 25, 11:15am

Yeah I see it. All cool dems are appealing to leftist fringe of the party, it’s like a crazytown. Zero appeal to normal people with families and responsibilities.

SNL's DNC Debate may have gotten more views than the actual debate. The Bloomberg part was pretty funny.

29   clambo   2019 Nov 26, 3:15pm

I don't watch that much TV but this AM I was at a guy's house and I saw the Oakland CA channel.

I saw the Bloomberg ad and it sucks. Of course I am biased against him but it was mostly nonsensical.

Trying to make him seem like an admirable figure is not possible today; he's not telegenic and he is old and short.
30   Y   2019 Nov 26, 5:27pm

don't underestimate him. he has tv stocks...

I like Mr Bloomberg but I would like to ask him why he allowed the conditions at Rikers Island, NYC prison, to continue during his tenure.

From today’s NYT

“He Waited 6 Hours for Medical Help. Then He Tried to Hang Himself.
Nicholas Feliciano, 18, had a history of suicide attempts, but Rikers jail guards failed to act for seven minutes when he tried to kill himself.

The union representing corrections officers did not respond to requests for comment, but the union president, Elias Husamudeen, strongly denied to The Daily News on Wednesday that the four officers had stood idly by and watched while Mr. Feliciano tried to hang himself. “That’s preposterous, that’s almost criminal,” Mr. Husamudeen said. “That never, ever happened.”

“The suicide attempt was captured on a video feed that the officers are expected to monitor periodically, according to several people with knowledge of the incident. The actions of the officers, including a supervisor, were recorded by a separate camera, they said.

Lawyers with the Legal Aid Society, which represents Mr. Feliciano, said he had a history of past suicide attempts and mental health problems. The organization said the city jail system had a poor track record of protecting people at risk for taking their own lives.

“This outcome underscores the New York City Department of Correction’s inability to safeguard the youngest people in its custody,” Redmond Haskins, a spokesman for the Legal Aid Society, said. “It represents a colossal failure of supervision and leadership, one for which we demand answers before another New Yorker leaves the New York City jails in critical condition.”

BTW correctional officers at Rikers Island belong to gangs based on ethnicity.

When we raise taxes on the poor, it’s good because then the poor will live longer because they can’t afford as many things that kill them.”

I guess Bloomberg is unfamiliar with the phrase "Poor may not have money for school supplies and children's coats, but there is always money for alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, and hair/nails."
