Will the AI be as smug as the existing SV workers?

Well, as a highly trained highly competent tech worker I can tell you the AI hype is just marketing. If anything it’s just going to end a few pointless jobs and make people overall more productive

Not sure, but it'll probably speak English better. :-)

Actually, that's not fair. I think that the widespread American movies and TV shows have taught many non-native speakers extremely well. There are many young people at work that I forget have only been in the USA for a few years — their English is that good. It's startling sometimes, because they speak "American" English like a native but of course have holes in their understanding of customs and lifestyle.

LOL. The more AI, the MORE Silicon Valley workers there will be, not less. Somebody needs to develop/implement all that AI shit.

Just like any other technology cycle, it starts with hype. At the end, it is a better tool to process large set of data. It is quite useful to handle certain types of data that it is hard to do with current traditional methods. I think it creates more jobs. Perhaps, the real game changer could be quantum computing, the possibilities are dramatic if the price is low enough.

Great highlights reel!

AI is like having a college intern. They know enough to get themselves in trouble. Often it's more trouble than it's worth to have them do anything important without supervision.
