Do you know how much nurse practitioners make? It's a lot.
Whenever you have a 'lower educated' replacement at 'lower cost' to perform a particular function, bracket creep takes hold and the 'lower cost' professional winds up being a lot more expensive anyway. You wind up with less qualified people that cost more, but it probably DOES increase the population of providers of one kind or another.
