Doesn't matter if it closes down. By purchasing the site, they removed a major outlet for the right. I doubt it was purchased to make money.

Yeah, I think Drudge sold but him not admitting it was part of the deal.
One great piece of evidence is that Drudge liked "News of the Weird" and especially Robot/AI and Crazy Weather stories. Starting in 2019 they disappeared, an indicator he was no longer involved.

There are, IMO, several ways to look at Mat Drudge:
Drudge could have been a Psyop from the very start, used as a means to fool conservatives into thinking that they actually had a trusted source for 'news.' In reality, after Drudge helped expose the Clinton/Lewinsky/Paula Jones scandal, he became nothing other than a site that provided 'news' links from around the world. Drudge also was a big supporter of the Neo-Cons never ending war plans for the Middle East, designed to help a certain little country.
Another possibility is that the Establishment has something on him. Epstein was running a political blackmail operation for that 'certain little country.' It's possible that Drudge
was caught up in that, accounting for the sudden 'flip' from being a perceived conservative to a left wing wacko.
It could be that Drudge was secretly bought out. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that the site was taken over, with compensation, by the CIA or some other government entity.
I followed Drudge from the very beginning, but completely quit over 2 years ago and haven't been back since.

I've noticed they've started going back to center again, likely to stop the massive loss of traffic.
I used to read Drudge a lot. Now? Not at all. I pretty much refuse to visit as the site has turned into a cesspool. Citizen Free Press and The Liberty Daily are two of my favorites now.
