There is good intel Musk will take his new satellite internet company public. I'm buying in as instantly as possible. Any thoughts?

Me also. Kiss Hughes goodbye - and think of the big dollar military contracts for worldwide broadband. If nothing but for the airmen/soldiers.

Fuck AT&T.

Oh wow, I'm surprised. I've been wanting in on SpaceX too, but thought I heard he plans to keep it private for as long as can be. I figured his satellite venture would be the same.

I'm interested. Problem is...I bet everyone else is interested too, and will likely bid the price up to crazy levels. I mean come on - you're getting to buy Musk and his amazing success record. Plus, the recent TSLA stock performance just conveniently made some people some major bank, and so expectation of a repeat will be there. And maybe most of all, it gets to enjoy extra hype because it's "space".

And I will do you a favor by staying out and not jinxing it. Every time I buy a "promising" stock, it falls.

This one is a sure bet.

Just like houses, it all depends on the price. You can overpay for anything.

But I have been happy with Tesla stock, so I will keep an eye on this.

I see nothing but a disaster. Musk is a damn fool and never fully thinks out all of the things that could go wrong. He only focuses on creating the reveal and the money shot of his creation that he's working on. What ever may come next he's never prepared or gives a fuck.

Already Starlink is causing issues for every Scientist that looks to the sky in their research. He's launching Gen 1 now, what happens he upgrades the hardware and network. More Satellites while the old ones are still in orbit. He's an Idiot with money throwing shit on the wall. Some of it sticks sometimes, eventually, but most of his shit blows up. Literally!

Him making that flamethrower a few years back, was fitting. It's the only incendiary device he's made that behaves as intended.

Like how much more of this can he keep getting away with?

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2020/02/08/tesla-remotely-removes-features-from-used-cars-without-warning

Tesla reportedly removed autopilot features from a customer’s used Tesla vehicle without any notice whatsoever. The practice is likely to add more Tesla buyers to the growing chorus of dissatisfaction surrounding Elon Musk’s treatment of customers.

Jalopnik reports that Elon Musk’s electric car manufacturer Tesla allegedly removed the autopilot features from a customer’s used Tesla vehicle with no warning. Jalopnik refers to the customer as “Alec” and claims that the customer purchased a 2017 Tesla Model S on December 20th of last year from a third-party dealer who purchased the vehicle directly from Tesla via an auction on November 15, 2019.

The car was sold legally as a result of the California Lemon Law buyback due to the car suffering from an issue where the center console screen developed a yellow border. When the vehicle was sold at the auction on November 15 it was optioned with Enhanced Autopilot and Tesla’s “Full Self Driving Capability” features. These options combined cost $8,000.

After the vehicle was sold, Tesla conducted a remote “audit” of the car, as a result of the audit the car’s software was updated to the latest version in December and Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self Driving Capability features were removed. The date of the audit was confirmed by Tesla when questioned by Jalopnik.

My plan is to buy at ipo, when it doubles, sell 50% and let profits gamble.

This is a gamble, I can potentially lose. But I see little risk because of popularity and stock success of his previous ventures.

I won't play that ipo game of buying based on whatever they price it at.

Not saying it won't work, just that it's not based on economics.

But if they seem to have a really solid business plan and it's public and you can see the projected earnings for the first year, then you can calculate a p/e for whatever price and have a reasonable guess as to whether it's a good deal or not at the ipo price.
