What Mr Barry needs is a long jail sentence. Society doesn't owe a bloodsucking tick like this anything.
Although, I do also place heavy blame on the law for this. Just like how corporations will exploit loopholes for self benefit, so will petty thieves. At least Mr Barry is enterprising and strategic, lol.
This reminds of of the other recent law change in a dem stronghold. I think it was washington or oregon, but they decriminalized theft up to $1000 or something like that. It was controversial, because they said their jail was overflowing due to petty theft from homeless, and jail costs money, so they argued they should just stop prosecuting thefts up to $1k to alleviate the pressure on the jail. Of course, the people who argued against this law change were right, and things panned out as they predicted: theft surged.
The left loves to create new victims, reassigning the victimhood as they see fit. In this case, they didn't like their homeless minorities being "victims of society", so they changed the law, and now the new victims are small business owners - those who own small mom and pop stores - because they get robbed constantly, and can't do anything about it. The left is smugly happy with their victim reassignment - they took some victimhood away from minorities, and placed it upon what they view as evil, disgusting, greedy, business owners. And events like this is where the word libtard comes from.

Charles Barry, 56, has been arrested six times since the start of this year. He’s been released each time without having to post bail under New York’s new bail reform law since his alleged offenses were nonviolent, the New York Daily News reported. In the past, Barry’s served several stints in state prison and has a lengthy record, including six felonies, 87 misdemeanors and 21 missed court hearings, the newspaper reported, citing court records.
“Bail reform, it’s lit!” Barry yelled to reporters Thursday outside the NYPD Transit District 1 headquarters in the Columbus Circle station before officers transported him to Manhattan Central Booking. “It’s the Democrats!
