Yeah if they cared so much they should lighten up the rules.

To be fair, we went through this kind of bullshit trying to adopt a regular, non-soldier, dog (of a particular breed we prefer): "oh, your 5.5 foot fence not high enough, oh, you have kids and probably won't have enough time for the dog, oh, you both work and it means that the dog would be home alone during the work week, blah, blah, blah..."

Finally we said "fuck it, looks like you don't want your dogs to ever get adopted" and got a puppy. No problems with fences, kids, work - everybody is happy, especially the pup.
