The social network has already removed protest messages in California, New Jersey and Nebraska.

Facebook is blocking anti-quarantine protesters from using the site to organize in-person gatherings in states that require residents to stay in their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The world’s largest social network has already removed protest messages in California, New Jersey and Nebraska from its site at the urging of state governments who say those events are prohibited by stay-at-home orders, a company spokesperson said.

Protesters have gathered in state capitals around the country in recent days to push back against their governments’ decisions to close non-essential businesses and requiring residents to largely isolate at home.

This plus many more instances of popular private social media platforms de-contenting their sites because someone was offended needs to lead to new platforms. Those that accept facts and opinions of those aggrieved users of the more popular platforms, and convince others to follow their lead. Free market does work, the majority of people just aren’t doing it right because they expect the government to do it for them or fix their problems.

Wow, that is a MASSIVE First Amendment violation: government pressuring private companies to suppress free speech!

Facebook should rightly point out that state governments are violating the Constitution and refuse to comply, but then, Facebook itself is part of the pervasive government surveillance system used to spy on all of us, almost, but not quite as bad as Google.

The one benefit of this is that it becomes very clear that Facebook interferes with political speech daily. Every group that tried to exercise its right to free speech to talk about protesting unfair and arbitrary shutdown rules and then saw their protest disappeared by government "suggestion" is going to find alternate channels away from Facebook, and that is a very good thing.

No one should use Facebook for anything, ever.

And billions of naive people still keep making themselves utterly and completely dependent on Gmail and Google and Android with no worry that their life will be very badly interrupted the moment Google decides they are no longer complying with The Narrative that Bad White People deserve to have their jobs outsourced to China and all remaining shit jobs mopped up by illegals.

The Second Amendment is needed exactly for cases like these, where the First Amendment is shat upon by government officials.

FB inhales govt cock to get on their good side.

This is how they kiss up, demonstrating their "value" to the govt, so that politicians will defend and protect their new tool, instead of attack them.

They started this kiss-ass shit right after Pocahontas started attacking them. It scared them badly. I bet they had an emergency "corporate strategy" meeting right after that.

I know this is not a connivance; but, this kind of thing makes me think it is.

And I don't although I still have an open account. My last post was a pic of a pile of dog shit on the carpet, which is how I feel about Facebook.
