The Boy Scouts of America (“BSA”) has filed bankruptcy in order to restructure its nonprofit business and pay Sexual Abuse Survivors. Please read this notice carefully as it may impact your rights against BSA, BSA Local Councils and organizations that sponsored your troop or pack. This notice provides information about the bankruptcy case, In re Boy Scouts of America and Delaware BSA, LLC, No. 20-10343 (Bankr. D. Del.). ...

We encourage Sexual Abuse Survivors, regardless of how old they are today or when the sexual abuse happened, to file claims.

Who Should File a Sexual Abuse Claim?

Anyone who was sexually abused during their time in Scouting, on or before February 18, 2020, must file a claim. This includes sexual abuse in connection with Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, or any entity or activity associated with Scouting.

Sexual Abuse Claims include, but are not limited to: sexual misconduct, exploitation, or touching, sexual comments about a person or other behaviors that led to abuse, even if the behavior was not sexual or against the law, and regardless of whether you thought the behavior was sexual abuse or not. These acts could be between a: (1) child and an adult or (2) child and another child.

When and How Should I File a Sexual Abuse Claim?

You should file a claim using the Sexual Abuse Survivor Proof of Claim Form by November 16, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). If you do not file a timely Sexual Abuse Claim, you may lose rights against BSA, BSA Local Councils, or organizations that sponsored your troop or pack, including any right to compensation. Only BSA is in bankruptcy. If you have a claim against the BSA Local Councils or other organizations, you must take additional legal action to preserve and pursue your rights.

110 years of teaching boys how to be men. Feminists just can't stand normal happy healthy men. It reminds them that they are not men, and they are not happy being women.

No doubt there was probably some abuse during that time, but this lawsuit is not about that at all.

It's about the feminist war on human biology. A war which makes all of us sadder and solves nothing.

And it's about lawyers sniffing an opportunity to drain a venerable old institution of all its cash.

It's the same tactic over and over again to take down an entire organization that is too big to not fight "dirty". You have a few cases and blow these out of proportion to delegitimize the whole org and sue or protest it into bankruptcy. Doesn't matter if it's the Boy Scouts, the Catholic Church or the US Police Forces. When you have a large enough organization misconduct will occur because at the end of the day its members represent a statistical sample of society with roughly the same amount of criminals. Sad indeed.

I've been involved with BSA for a while and I've never encountered any of the woke stuff personally. I think a lot of it withering away is from decrease in dads being involved because of single mothers, fiminism, and of course the gay pedos that's ruin everything.

I'm really surprised it is still going covid almost wiped it out.

The timeline is extraordinary: from lawsuits to include gay leaders in 2015 [https://apnews.com/article/3c45bb5a491548b4a85a0c31d87ddfa2] to 2020’s lawsuits over sexual abuse from said gay leaders, the outcome was rapid and predictable. Intentional, I would say, from those suing to include gay leaders on overnight camps. Just another way to take down a hated conservative group.

It's much higher. Per Paul Bonacci and Troy Boner something like 80%. And Boy Scouts was co-opted by satanist pedo's just like a lot of kids organizations. Read the stuff from DeCamp, lawsuits are legit, and likely represent only 10% of what actually happened.

I would argue "the left" built the Internet, but we are the 1990s left. Not the modern ones.

Pulled my kid from it. Wasn't worried about pedos. It has just become a trash organization. I thought it would be better since I was a kid and was on Eagle Scout path, but I bailed. That was the 90's. My Eagle Scout dad was pissed, but I didn't care. Everything was turning "soft" around that time. It's even softer now. I think it's doomed as an organization.

My oldest is 13 and I don't know a single peer of his that's still doing it. Rural areas were always a huge area for scouts. Not so much anymore. Don't blame them either.

If it wasn't for two of my one son's friends being in it I'd be completely out of it. That was the only reason my oldest stayed in for so long, his whole group were close and started in kindergarten, when covid hit and we moved it was over for all of them.
