I can make essentially the same thing from scratch but without any chemical mystery ingredients.
I couldn't think of anywhere, honestly I would have rather stayed home had a cookout and had great conversation over a few beers. They have grown into fine young ladies.
Not only restaurants, but I don't trust most corporate packaged food either.
I've started reading ingredient lists on packaged food and seeing if I can make essentially the same thing from scratch but without any chemical mystery ingredients.
Worked pretty well for palak paneer, and almond butter cookies. Takes more work of course, but I have more time now.
I'm pretty sure that MSG is a general stimulant and contributes to insomnia, though it does taste good. That stuff is everywhere, mostly disguised in the ingredient list as "yeast extract" or some other euphemism.

That's what I do these days. Yeah, yeast extract is basically MSG but consider non-fortified nutritional yeast for a nice B-vitamin complex - well balanced. All but B12.
If you quit eating human dog food you may miss out on some vitamins ("fortified"; not as good as natural) so plan for that.
I sprinkle it on eggs and salads. It looks and tastes similar to original Doritos cheese dust.
What's the purpose of MSG anyway?

Flavor enhancer. You can even buy a bottle of "Accent" granulized msg to shake on your food like salt.
What's wrong with salt?
The put Bleach in an officers Shake earlier last week at a Steak and Shake. They later said it was from not properly rinsing the machine when they cleaned it. Yeah, well how come no other patrons complained?
I'm done with Big Plastic Sign out by the Road Food.
I used to be somewhat skeptical on the importance of eating organic foods. Then in 2018, an important paper in JAMA came out. That study showed that eating a higher proportion of organic food is inversely associated with the overall risk of cancer (P for trend = .001). Inversely associated in this case means that the more organic foods in the diet, the less cancer.
Since then, numerous other peer reviewed papers have been published documenting the benefits of eating organic food. Recently, some important studies have been done that show very strong correlations between pesticide and herbicide use and various diseases. There are many reasons to eat organic, but reducing the residues of Roundup (glyphosate) and other chemicals on foods is a big one.
Today, I am going to list the issues with commercially grown food and then simply present some of the peer reviewed papers that show the importance of eating organic foods. Some of these articles are scientifically complex. However, the bulleted points should be clear enough -for those that don’t feel like diving into the science.
If one can’t afford to eat organically, the other big message is to read food labels for “country of origin.” These days, that can be difficult to determine - due to the issuance of the USDA “Cool rules.” Under these guidelines, processed foods do not need to require a country of origin labelling, if they are assembled or combined in the USA. But even still, read those food labels - they matter!
Don't eat Corporate Food, the fucking animals they have working there is liable to do anything to your food. These aren't rational human beings.
I am MYSTIFIED why people go to chains.
I had a German professor in college who drove across the US with his family. He said that at first he tried to avoid the corporate chains, but eventually he gave up and went to them because the quality was much more consistent than one-off places.
I don't know why McDonald's exists. Ignorance is why they exist.
Mom and Pop place HOLE IN THE WALL is the best possible food you can get.

Especially for:
BBQ like brisket and pulled port
Breakfast like omelets, hash browns, eggs benedict
BLTs, Reubens, and the like
Meatloaf
Local seafood like blue crab dishes, she-crab soup, or fresh caught croaker. In Minnesota, every hole in the wall has great walleye.

Regarding restaurants, quite a few just dress up Sysco food.
You need MSG for good health?

Go to your local Diner, it will be better for you all around. Make 2020 the year the American people decided to fire the scumbags on Wallstreet, that has set up shop in every business and now hires Animals to service the people. Now that they are the only game in town.
