Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels ends the video by saying, "You've been warned."

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels shared a video on Tuesday, stating he will "make special deputies of every lawful gun owner" in the county if his deputies aren't able to handle all the protesters.

In the three-minute video, the northwest Florida sheriff calls out "the mainstream media" and protesters as godless dissidents. He tells people to not "fall victim to this conversation that law enforcement is bad, that law enforcement is the enemy of the citizens that we're sworn to protect and serve."

Daniels then talks about law enforcement taking an oath "to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the government...And we end that with, 'So help me God.'"

"But God is absent from the media's message or Black Lives Matter or any other group that's making themselves a spectacle disrupting what we know to be our quality of life in this country," Daniels says. Daniels also tells protesters to stay out of Clay County, which is a suburb near Jacksonville.

"If we can't handle you, I'll exercise the power and authority as the sheriff, and I'll make special deputies of every lawful gun owner in this county and I'll deputize them for this one purpose to stand in the gap between lawlessness and civility," Daniels said.

Daniels ends the video with, "You've been warned." The video has racked up more than a thousand shares as of Wednesday.

It will be fun to see the consequences when one or more of these new deputies shoot an unarmed American.

I enjoy an occasional pearl wisdom from HEYOU, although he has only 18 ignores now and has to work (type) harder to get back to 50+ he had before. BTW this is an entertaining troll post from him (even though I am kinda OK with deputizing civilians as in OP).

No matter the circumstances, that person will be guilty even before the facts come to light, right?

Kinda ok with it? It's the law. It's a good thing.

I would not want to deputize most inhabitants of Harris county TX, but may be Clay county FL is different.

Actually, this prediction is 100% spot-on, first in media, and then perhaps in a politically motivated trial.
