Helping the police

A senior Russian pilot complicit in a deadly attack on a Ukrainian mall has been found dead with hammer wounds to the head.

The pilot, named as Dmitry Golenkov, was involved in the missile strike on civilians at Amstor mall in the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk, on June 27, 2022.

A total of 22 people died in the attack and at least 59 were injured.

The body of Golenkov, who was chief of staff of the Russian 52nd heavy bomber aviation squadron, was found in an orchard on Sunday morning, in the Russian village of Suponevo...

The mall was hit by Russian X-22 missiles fired from Tu-22M3 bombers that flew from Shaykovka airfield in Russia's Kaluga region, according to Reuters. Golenkov was based at this airfield.

They don't know/think they are blocking traffic. Even here in South Florida there are green stenciled bikes with green chevrons pointing forward on the right side of the road. This video is just one of the reason I would never ride a bike in the street like it's a dedicated bike lane, with confidence I'm doing the smart/right thing to do.

People are on their phones, looking at Google maps, see who a phone call is from while using maps, texting, everything but looking at the road.

My approach to bicycling is they are pathfinders. They don't belong on pedestrian sidewalks, or on the highway where cars are driving. I ride in swells, will switch over to the road or off the sidewalk to avoid obstacles, and off the road where I can. Not in or through someone's yard, but any public property, or vacant lot. You should stick to side streets and take/use every shortcut you can to limit your time on such treacherous urban terrain. Your ego and bike is no match for unaware motorist in a 2 ton basket of steel, plastic and glass.

Correct. I bike any chance I get but I stay on bike trails and back roads unless a main road is the only route. I am not fond of the cyclists in the superhero suits who think they are fast enough to use car lanes and think everyone is admiring them and thus do not mind the cyclist slowing traffic.

Another war criminal bites his own testies:

A bomb planted under a car blew up and killed a Russian serviceman in the occupied Crimean city of Sevastopol on Wednesday, in what a Kyiv security source told NBC News was a Ukrainian hit on a senior naval official accused of war crimes.

Russia’s Investigative Committee, which handles probes into serious crimes, said in a statement that an improvised explosive device had detonated, killing a serviceman whom it did not identify.

A source in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that the explosion had killed Valery Trankovsky, a Russian naval captain in charge of the headquarters of the 41st brigade of Russia’s Black Sea missile ships.

The car bombing was “a successful special operation of the SBU. As a result of the explosion, the legs of the Russian captain were torn off, he died from blood loss,” the source said.

The source accused Trankovsky of war crimes for ordering missile strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine and described the hit as legitimate and in line with the customs of war.

The source said it was symbolic that the bomb had detonated on Taras Shevchenko street, which is named after Ukraine’s most famous poet.
