Google was started by and serves the intelligence agencies.
This is just another fake "we (the government) will look seriously at this issue and mitigate the problems! REALLY!".
It's just another fake "we're doing something". just like the Durham "investigation". Our current "government" current resists any change whatsoever. They're corrupt, and they like it that way. If the law was actually enforced, something like 95% of the federal government would be in jail within 6 months. That's not going to happen.
Our federal government is as corrupt and as useless as the USSR's was - the difference is, our government doesn't entirely control the means of production,
