They let me putter around Mission Bay in a 20 foot Catalina sloop for $40 a half day 5 years ago.

They took my word that I knew how to sail but it's hard to get in trouble there because the conditions are relatively benign.

Illegal in CA. The penalty for mere possession of a cane sword is more severe than for carrying a loaded concealed gun registered to your name w/o a carry permit.

20510 PC states that “Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, lends, or possesses any cane sword is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.”

I thought the flag would face forward when under sail. Are you motoring in the above pic? Having a wake shows you are not stopped. Does the flag point rearward when tacking? I have only sailed Hobie Cats and small keelboats (and capsized every one of them trying for speed).
