Gab is much better. They have Gab.tv now. Pretty soon Styx and Computing Forever and Salty Cracker and Whataboutit will be on and it will do well. They're also starting a Zoom alternative that will be US Based. Only thing it needs is a private chatroom like Twitter Groups.
Minds.com is very good as well. Faster but fewer users.
There's rumble and odysee which work great. The latter has most of the people like the ones I follow above.
Competition is the key to freedom. When twitter pisses off users, millions flock to a competitor; same with Zoom and Facebook and eventually Google I hope. All it takes is a few million which spirals rapidly. Also, young people like novelty so they often switch platforms just because the look and feel is different and rebellion against the established social media is cool, as most generations have done.
My issue is I don't want to watch vids on a computer. I work on one all day. So I tend to use roku/TV at night. I've been using Rumble lately and a lot is moving to that. Their roku app sucks balls but there are no adds.
