CA is bad from what I hear from you all here. Deep blue states seem to have it the worst. IL is different because Chicago is like an island. Masks and respirators do not work.

There have been extensive randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies, and meta-analysis reviews of RCT studies, which all show that masks and respirators do not work to prevent respiratory influenza-like illnesses, or respiratory illnesses believed to be transmitted by droplets and aerosol particles.

Furthermore, the relevant known physics and biology, which I review, are such that masks and respirators should not work. It would be a paradox if masks and respirators worked, given what we know about viral respiratory diseases: The main transmission path is long-residence-time aerosol particles (< 2.5 μm), which are too fine to be blocked, and the minimum-infective dose is smaller than one aerosol particle.

I wear a neck gaiter. Not over my face just around the neck when in new places. I was happy to get chewed out by this 60ish year old dude in the elevator today of all places. He asked why the fuck I had it on. Lol. I’m on vacation and really don’t have the time or want to deal with Karen’s so I just throw the gaiter on.

Besides when we were in Mexico, the Panhandle FL is basically at 90% normal. They’re down to just Karen’s wearing masks. Going out to eat most the staff isn’t wearing a mask at this point. Zero customers are either.

Weather is shit this week though. Kind of pissed about that.

Unfortunately I do not have the fortitude to forego employment and food to violate my employers and the stores mask rules. But I sure as hell won't mask outside.

100%. It's why I take the mask off when flying. My first flight under the current situation to SLC was mostly fine. I started losing it near the end.

The next one to San Juan is where I broke down and figured out a way to hide my non-mask wearing. I'm a tall guy in a small airplane seat already. Then you wrap something around my face. I did also have a boot on for a broken heel which didn't help either.

I have zero fear of flying but I was legit dripping in sweat halfway though that flight. The mask in conjunction with the boot made it miserable. The neck pillow and a hat is your friend. Although on my last flight from Pensacola, FL I just didn't wear it. No one said anything. I think most people are sick of it at this point.

Since masks are just theater and not science, get the thinnest most porous mask you can for flights.

I was very happy when I realized my regular mask had 2-plys to it. I cut out the inner one so it's much more comfortable now when I have to go shopping.

Neck gaiter. My facial hair is visibly poking through it when I wear it. My buddy got shit for his on the way to Phoenix, but that was about it. I cannot imagine wearing a cloth one or the blue ones or two... lo f'ing l. I don't like stuff pulling on my ears (or wearing masks at all).

As I type this I'm literally at a loss. The guy that tells us masks don't work (they don't) is now telling us two masks are better than one. This is Twilight Zone shit as I think another user has pointed out. Logic be damned I guess?
