The guy lucked into money and is an idiot. I don't watch often, but he's the biggest pussy on Shark Tank. The business owners might as well walk out and just ask him direct if he's "out" before the pitch and just say I'm glad I got that out of the way.

I think the site is brilliant. Simple, efficient. Problem is even if he were to add ads patnet users don't trust anybody and are among the most frugal. I'm too lazy to whip out my last stocks thread but I'm sure if you had bought equal shares of them you'd be up 50% at least YoY if not more. Patrick is the only one who occasionally follows my buys and makes money. Maybe he should just offer hosting patnet clones with limited self management for others. Should be easy to convert his model into the cloud with one shot deployment via IaC. Just charge a bit more than the cloud costs, he would prob be able to undercut hosted WP et al by a wide margin.

This Site has been the first place I go to for "real news" for decades. That's even before I read X. Yeah, there are some whackjob posts, but also some REALLY smart people with insights. Thanks to all who contribute.

My conclusion after many years of this is that good tech is nice, but the real money is in having an audience size of millions of daily readers. I just don't know how to acquire an audience of that size. Ideas?

But then they decided I had gone off the reservation and censored it. And I guess I did go off the reservation, deciding that the real enemies are the establishment institutions that Google spies on us for.

Now I mostly just have fun posting politically incorrect memes because it's so satisfying to be able to tell truths that the corporate media is desperately trying to bury or distract from. And the memes do bring in some new readers, but most of them don't join in the discussions.

How can you truly know how popular you are when you're actively being suppressed by the deep state and being actively spammed by Chicoms?

Goddamn - PatNet and Housing Panic were voices of sanity in the chaos of lies way back in the day. If you find a sane person, you follow them if you yourself are largely sane. The people still on PatNet are those very same, very sane voices. I have a few groups of people IRL to which I can speak as I do as on PatNet. - they are preciously few, and as a result, they are correspondingly precious to me.
