The Klausutis family contended from the time of Lori’s death that her passing was a private matter, and became outraged at all of the media coverage the investigation into the death received. Her father-in-law, Norm Klausutis, wrote a letter to the editor of the Daily News to express the family’s anger.
“On behalf of Lori Klausutis’ entire family, I want to thank the Northwest Florida Daily News for adding to this family’s pain over Lori’s loss. Losing Lori was the most painful event in my life of 62 years. It was far more painful for her husband. Lori was a loving, healthy and dynamic person. She gave of herself to her community, her church and even perfect strangers. She was extremely happy with her life, job and family.
“For those who knew Lori, the thought of suicide, as your published reports suggested, is absolutely unthinkable. Suicide was contrary to her faith and being. She did not suffer from seizures, nor did she have a history of medical problems. For your newspaper to print such unsubstantiated misinformation was unethical and uncaring for the people in our community. It was my understanding that journalists had to verify facts for their stories, unless their material appeared on the editorial page. One can only wonder what motivated your reporter to write as she did. Again, thank you for adding to my family’s pain.” —Norm Klausutis, Lori’s father-in-law
Efforts to reach members of the Klausutis family for this article were unsuccessful.
What ever happened to that intern of his?
Amazing how Joe went from a 100% Conservative to the errand boy of Mika Zbig in just a few years after a mysterious death of a married young woman in his office.
There was even a website:

(This last link is GREAT. The Medical Examiner had his license revoked in another state years before for malpractice; he was also a big donor to Scarborough)
Wanna know why Kos isn't on MSNBC?

Did you know Scarborough was the Original Lawyer for the guy who shot DR GUNN, the abortion doctor? And while he resigned because the case was too big for him, he represented the perp's family for a while.
He was so popular in the Panhandle, he didn't garner so much as a token Dem Opponent in 2000. Scarborough mysteriously announced he was resigning his Congressional Seat, despite his rising-star Republican Party Status, after just entering his 4th term in a complete victory. He also divorced his first wife. And interestingly, their two sons are married to - you guessed it - Media/PR People.
In July 2001, one of his 28-year old interns was found dead, and her head had been smashed against a desk. It was believed, on speculation with little physical evidence, that the intern had some sort of undiagnosed heart ailment that caused her to black out and smack her head on the way down. This girl was an avid jogger, and a bad ticker is far more likely to manifest itself during a run in humid Florida than while shuffling papers in an air conditioned office. Both Michael Moore and Markos "Daily Kos" Moulitsas spread a "conspiracy theory" about it, and even purchased a domain that alleged there was enough evidence that Scarborough was involved to merit an investigation. Many, many leftists agreed with it, of course: http://joescarboroughkilledhisintern.com/
If you remember, Kos was a frequent guest for both his lefty views and the popular "DailyKos", one of the first big political websites and having a pulse on "the new generation and the new politics on the internet" hype.
He made a boo-boo, however, by mentioning Scarborough's interns' death on national TV and in a tweet in 2010. He was officially banned, of course, from MSNBC:

By that time, Scarborough was doing his "Morning Joe" and had been since 2007. Since then, Kos has almost disappeared from Legacy Media, appearing only rarely.
