I think your friend is right. Who knows.

AC/DC has a somewhat similar line from TNT, something like "I can be your backup man". With the previous bit is that he's elbowing the other guy aside.

Also the Gordon Lightfoot line from "Sundown": "I found you been creeping 'round my backstairs." or something. That or Gordon was getting pegged, pretty sure he wasn't.

That song was penned by Willie Dixon, and so was "I'm your back door man" which the Doors also stole from him.
A back door man in Delta Blues speak, means the guy who sneaks in to fuck your wife.
Lots of infidelity in Blues songs.
Led Zeppelin ripped that song from these two songs.

It's a double entendre. Both meanings are applicable and correct and the writer knew it could be taken in two ways.
