Anybody that has been in a desperate situation knows that before they can save others, they have to save themselves. Altruism is a privilege, but it's not even altruism - in truth it's a luxury you want to engage in for your own benefit, which happens to help others. Altruism doesn't exist.

I think the most important survival skill in war is to identify the psychopath or sociopath in your own groups and frag them or injure them out. They are so disruptive and incapable of real cooperation and mutual altruism that they will be a constant hazard, and they will likely get you associated with atrocities. If they are in leadership positions (which they often are) they won't hesitate to get you killed while they roll to safety (a characteristic of our politicians, too).

The measure will now go into effect July 1, making Utah the 12th state to enact some form of a ban on transgender athletes in school sports. The other 11 states are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.
