I see conservatives object to being called things like "transphobe." They'll defend themselves saying, "transphobia means fear, and I'm not scared of trans people! I just don't believe men should go in women's bathrooms etc"

Well, one: Defending yourself against their accusations and name-calling is wasted time. The proper response isn't "No, I'm not." It's "I don't care."

Two: We actually should feel fear. We should fear men going into women's bathrooms. We should fear for the female prisoners forced to be incarcerated with men, many of whom have raped women. We should fear for the rape victims forced to share space in abuse shelters with men. We should fear a world in which girls are forced to suppress their instincts and smile as males infiltrate their sororities, teams, and locker rooms. And, yes, aversion too. A pro-transgender university surgeon says he is performing irreversible sex surgeries on pre-pubescent children who have had no experiences of sexual feelings and little ability to consent or accomplish the required post-surgical procedures.

“It’s a very complicated issue,” Dr. Blair Peters, a Canadian-trained “queer” surgeon at Oregon Health & Science University, told a friendly interviewer. “But I think definitely something that we’re going to learn a lot more about in the next five to 10 years as we’re doing just increasing numbers of these cases,” Blair said in the now-archived video.

Getting consent and cooperation from the pre-sexual children is also a problem, Blair acknowledged:

Last April, Abbigail Wheeler, a swimmer on the Springfield, Illinois, YMCA SPY swim team, was alarmed when a transgender woman was allowed to use the same locker room as the girls on her team.

I've observed this as well. Boys are the "problem" when they're younger - too active, can't sit still, etc. Girls, on the other hand, are problems later, when their uteruses start pumping out baby rabies - "Whores in chains."

I remember when I was young (<12 years old). I wanted to be like the big kids, mostly because I couldn't imagine what it was like to be an adult. Later, I wanted to be like an adult (in my teens). Now that I've been all of these, including a father and now a middle-aged man, was it all it was cracked up to be?

Yes and no. I think as far as the timeless things, the things that don't change - mating, becoming a father - this was much more intense than I could have imagined. As far as those things that are mutable - larger society, globohomo, social manipulation - I think it's largely a crock of shit designed to rope people in who otherwise can't think for themselves.

I believe from personal experience that people are largely governed by hormonal phases in their lives, unless you have a big enough brain and enough force of will to resist it. In adolescence, you feel a compelling need to get people to like you or make friends, be "popular." Later on, in your twenties through thirties, it's family and kids. When you hit your mid-forties, the hormones finally stop pickling your brain (for the most part), and for the first time since before puberty, you can largely think dispassionately again.

I don't think it's possible to convey wisdom, at least to the youngins, by words alone. They need to see and react. Maybe I'll figure something out . . .
