Elon Musk said Thursday night on Twitter that he has received mixed results after being tested for COVID-19 and is currently experiencing symptoms of a common cold. Musk says he was tested four times using a rapid antigen test: two tests came back positive and two came back negative. ...

Musk, long a COVID-19 skeptic, questions the validity of the testing with just a hint of conspiracy.

Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 13, 2020

In addition to saying “something extremely bogus is going on,” Musk implies that his experience is likely shared by others and contributing to the current spike in cases seen in the US and abroad. He also responded “exactly” to a tweet saying “revenues from tests are likely not bogus.”

Covid IS the common cold. Everyone I know that's had it has stated as much. Only my recent encounter in Nashville surprised me with a 35 year old bartender being hospitalized. Only one other I know went to a doctor. Almost all were positive because of friends, family got it, and work requirements and didn't know.

excuse me miss lady, i am just a kitten and not an internet doctor or anything, but i’m pretty sure that if they stop testing all the people who aren’t sick that it would probably stop the dystopian merry-go-round altogether.

because that’s what got us onto this crazy thing in the first place, in case you didn’t know!

You do realize that the next stop on this dystopian merry-go-round is for the CDC to recommend us to stop testing anyone who isn’t sick.

That was the answer all along, ESPECIALLY after we found out the virus was already far more widespread than we thought. That was in April, 2020.

There's a reason we don't test healthy people for traces of the flu and then quarantine them while tracking down all their recent contacts. It's an idea so monumentally stupid that only government would actually do it.

Yet so monumentally stupid that half the population is not only taken in by it but actively joins in the enforcement effort.

Stockholm syndrome.

Shaking my head and laughing at the same time, in seeing staggering long queues of people waiting up to 3 hours to get a test to tell them they’re not sick!!

Likely this was required by an employer or college.

Taxes and drivers licenses are about the only two things that can't be faked without consequence. Everything else can be faked. Never needed it, but I had a fake vaccine card. You know the people that check them? Most were minimum wage service workers that didn't give a shit.

No different than the bouncer letting you in with a fake ID underage. That's your problem if you get caught. The bouncer has plausible deniability. "Looked real to me" Thing is a vaccine card literally violates HIPPA. To share any medical records you need to sign an authorization form. The vaccine card itself was illegal.

I don't want to find/pay an attorney, but the Ryman in Nashville (famous theater) mandated a covid vax ID for certain shows. 100% illegal. If I had the gumption I'd sue them. 100% illegal. It would be a slam dunk case. I know there's a thread on this already, but no one is willing to pay attorneys or it turns into a class action and you get $8.34 and the attorneys get $3M.

The ID required to get into a bar IS a driver's license or for non-drivers, a state ID issued at the same place one gets a driver's license. Maybe in your town things are different, but I have never seen a bar accept a college ID or factory ID precisely because they can be faked. Also, bar owners I know (and cops) have told me that a "fake ID" is no excuse. If an underage kid is in a bar drinking, the bar is liable to be fined or shut down regardless of how the kid got inside.

They charge the kid, not the bar unless the kid drove, got in a fight or hurt someone. They then go to the bar and go after them. Cops will look the other way with fake ID's at bars and just hit the kid up with a minor charge.

Wife, MIL and 4 SIL's all waitressed through college years. Chicago, Minnesota, rural, suburban, etc. Basically everywhere. If you have a fake ID the establishment doesn't care. Bouncers are a way of deflecting liability. The bar can always say they tried to validate ID's.

Do bar and restaurant owners want to get caught? Nope. But there's an extremely rare chance and it's just a slap on the wrist. Town, city, suburb, whatever, you think they're going to take away the tax revenue from booze sales and the license? Nope. It's extremely rare anywhere unless you're serving minors everyday, mainly college towns.
