Please recommend paid or free parental control software for Windows 10. I want to limit access to sites like YouTube, Discord, Mine...etc (not block these sites completely but assign access on certain days and times).

You can do that router level if you have netgear router. Device and time specific site blocking.

I have Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System. I tried to do that. Didn't work for me. Maybe I am not doing it right.

If all else fails you can parent your children.

But that router thing MIGHT work. Kids are good at getting around things.

Thanks for trying to raise good kids.

Problem is I can't monitor the student all the time because there are other things that need to be done. Too many distracts reduce the ability to have quality family time and focus on education.

Doesn't firefox have a mode where you can watch YouTube anonymously (YouTube doesn't know who you are because the video is being sent to Firefox and redirected to you)?

This would seem to defeat site blocks.

Tell them to get the F off the device. If you have a mesh wifi system you should be able to label and shut off individual devices. They don't need to be on them anyway. Not judging, just saying there's an easy solution. Don't have them use the device. If it's about education there are plenty of physical books out there.

We do have 3 iPads and 3 xboxes, but I control access 100%. You don't get your shit done, internet off. You don't pick up, internet off. Homework not done, internet off. It was harder during shutdowns as it was a way for our kids to communicate with their peers being stuck at home. But we're back to normal now. Go outside and play and you only get X amount of time for electronics.

I also wouldn't worry that much about individual sites. They're going to find them. Including that nasty ones. You can't stop them. I found porn when I was 11-12 and whacked off to it. I'm a normal, functioning and successful adult.

Kids are discovering this stuff earlier and earlier. I honestly think it's better to teach them about it. Iwog is no longer around by name, but he was right about sex. We're biologically wired to start having it from about 12/13 to 16/18. I was 15, which was early at the time. I'm not advocating it, just saying life happens. Gender part no, but I do lean lefty on sex education.

Okay my rant went sideways. You have a mesh network. Should be able to set time restraints and/or site restraints. As others have said kids are savvy. They'll find a way around it.

No ipads or xboxes here. I hear you, he gets his shit done and then plays silly video games. I wish he was running after girls.
