I'm updating as he responds back. I've noticed his responses can really drag out, guessing he's having to check everything with HR head, or someone in legal.

I wonder how HR would react if you wanted to see your co-workers shot records. After all, you do not want a nearby desk or cubical dweller give you shingles, mumps, whooping cough, or measles.
request to record seems to have definitively ended the above conversation
DeSantis is just a grifter imho
Well, the HR head emailed me again on Tuesday asking me to reconsider disclosing my shot status. Then he ambushed me during my normal one-on-one with my boss and fired me. The only thing I said was "Expect to hear from my lawyer". They're offering me six weeks severance, but fat chance I won't check around first. Even if we never get to court, I'm betting I could get way more from a settlement offer than what's on the table right now.
And if anyone knows of a company hiring for QA automation testing(API, prefer Java or Javascript), let me know.

That's nuts, they didn't allow you to work remotely as a QA engineer? Most companies haven't returned to the office yet. You're in CA I assume?

Yep, living in SoCal, office is in Bay Area. Hired as permanent remote.

Wow. They required the jab even for remote workers?
My company has also recently told me to get the jab or take a hike, but my job has always been in-person (prior to covid - I've been remote ever since).

I think you could potentially get millions of dollars from this.

"Hi Nuttboxer,
I hope you're having a great week so far! I still have not received a check-in from you regarding your COVID-19 Vaccination status. Would I be able to schedule a meeting with you this week to verify your status? Let me know what day works best for you!
NuttBoxer 10:51 AM
Hi Catbert,
I don't feel comfortable disclosing personal medical information.
Catbert 11:11 AM
Hi Nuttboxer. We don't need your medical record, we just some verification that you are vaccinated. The myvaccinerecord or the Clear app only displays whether you are vaccinated or not, it does not disclose any medical information.
Nuttboxer 11:12 AM
I'm confused, I thought a vaccination was a medical treatment for a specific disease?
Catbert 11:23 AM
Vaccines are used to prepare the body's immune system to fight infections that are in the body. Treatments are more along the lines classified as a way to help someone that is already been sick with a virus or infection.
Nuttboxer 11:24 AM
Sorry, you're right I used the wrong term. But you're saying a vaccine is not medicine? (edited)
11:26
I'm just really unclear on how vaccine status does not constitute sharing personal medical information. It's administered by a medical professional, in a medical location, for prevention of disease.
Catbert 11:26 AM
I dont think so because usually, medicine is given to a patient who is already ill or experiencing symptoms. Medicine would be considered as a form of treatment
Nuttboxer 11:27 AM
So anything preventative is not medical?
11:28
What about pap smears? Or blood tests to check for HIV? This is all non-medical information? Physicals?
11:30
According to this medical dictionary, vaccines are medicine, and this lines up with everything I've ever heard from my doctor:

Hey Nuttboxer. I am a little confused at the moment. Is the concern more along the lines of verifying your vaccination status or getting the actual vaccine?
Nuttboxer 12:31 PM
Sorry Catbert,
To be clear I'm not comfortable disclosing personal medical information.
Catbert 12:33 PM
Hey no worries. I just wanted to make sure we are on the same page. Do you have a couple of minutes today to jump on a zoom call to discuss this in order for me to get a better understanding?
Nuttboxer 12:38 PM
We can certainly chat, but I'm not sure what more I can add to help you understand my position on health and privacy.
12:38
Are you ok if I record the call?"
