Mark Milley ordered military command TAKE A LOYALTY OATH TO HIM
The company got a new CIO, a clueless hack, that actually said... "I'm here to digitize the organization" very cringe worthy. She made everyone join a Zoom call and pledge allegiance to her. And agreement of alignment, but all the while I kept reminding her, that I'm the sole IT person writing any and all code and everyone else there call on my to solve their problems. (a bunch of pseudo managers if you will). It just all seemed so dystopian and something a Commie organization would do. Needless to say, she wasted everyone's time in that Zoom call. As the best she got out of me, was a promise for me to continue writing effective code for business requirements and appropriate solutions for business problems as they arise.
She brought in PDW and they are taking them on a Cloud journey that is about to bankrupt the company. They call me to bail them out when can't figure out the business process I wrote. I was supposed to help them where they needed help. But it seems I'm giving them a master class on how home spun enterprise business objects work. I'm happy not officially working but billing enough hours every few months to keep me afloat. Though I'm not happy that I seem to be teaching more than I am bridging a gap for them by writing code on my own.
