Well, it was not even at it's historic low: The record-setting year of 1992 took the lake just three feet below its natural rim, not enough to seal Emerald Bay off from the rest of the lake.
A dam allows them to regulate the lakes level up to six feet above the natural rim. Sounds like it's average is about 2 feet above the rim, so there's still a lot left to refill.

Lake Tahoe's problems don't begin and end with lake level at any given time. Not sure who claimed "forever lost" but Tahoe's biggest ongoing problem is nitrate and other salt and contaminant intrusion and the consequences of these hard to mitigate problems. Tahoe's watershed gets way more than enough snow most years to keep it close to "full" but that is deceptive if the throughput is less than evaporative losses causing the lake chemistry to get more and more stagnant.

Also, the lake just got refilled, but much of its watershed burned very recently. Therefore the water will be very silty and very very alkaline. This will perturb the lakes ecosystem in a new direction for a couple of years on top of the current chemical burdens it faces.

When you say "good as new", how do you account for these two factors affecting lake chemistry, one long and one short term?

Isn't Global Warming supposed to make Lake Tahoe turn into an empty mud pit, anyway, by the year 2000? Oh, I forgot, it's 2021.
