Sikh religion is rejection(rebellion) of Brahmin hegemony as a middleman between individual and God.
The whole religion does appreciate the presence of teacher but not requires it. Also teacher doesn't need certain preordained pedigree.
It is not against Bharti Gods but about access to them.

The last cleaning of the Golden temple pool ( kar sewa ) was held on March 25th , 2004 . Their estimation of getting it done professionally entailed few millions of dollars over a period of six months . Though there was no question of getting it done by paying some company when thousands of Sikhs can do it voluntarily and cheerfully .

Even the management comittee , having insight of previous kar Sewa was hopeful to get it done in a week , given the Sikh Zeal to contribute in religious cause .
