In his timely new book Woke Racism, Columbia linguistics professor John McWhorter examines the force of an ascendant political religion that to his mind “has betrayed black America.”

“White privilege becomes the original sin that requires perpetual atonement,” McWhorter observes. Woke rebukes white America for its passive, unpardonable complicity within a fundamentally racist system. One is cleansed only through self-mortification.

According to McWhorter, a multi-racial Elect thinks of itself as a bearer of exclusive wisdom and empathy.

Woke positions itself against the white race, men, Christianity, capitalism and private property, heterosexuality — in other words, against people, institutions, belief systems, and worldly activities at the nation’s core. Convinced of its superior moral vision and divine duty, the Elect displays humorless fanaticism and demands total allegiance.

Providing a ministry of racial auguries, authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, Ibram Kendi, and Robin DiAngelo have catapulted to fame and fortune. With forensic skill, McWhorter analyzes their thin premises in what he has called “go-to books of the moment for whites seeking a way to help America heal racially.”

McWhorter does not think racial prejudice is the main obstacle to black advancement, and this sets him apart from many other prominent commenters on race. As he states in his preface, being black enables him to write a critique that would get a white observer accused of hate speech and racism. Concise and blunt, hastily written, sometimes choppy but deeply sincere, the book compares and coincides with a 624-page “new origin story” from the New York Times’ 1619 Project, “created” by Nikole Hannah-Jones and published by a Random House imprint.

The proposition that white racism is baked into American life has been around since the 1970s. As it goes, U.S. institutions advance Anglo-European ideas and symbols that ensure control over people of color and other oppressed groups. The time-tested idiom is “systemic racism,” which McWhorter considers a “clumsy term.” Woke goes a step further. It rejects time-honored standards of talent and virtue as colonizing, invasive, genocidal, and soul-destroying.

The Elect can be slippery and underhanded, McWhorter has noticed. One minute, as before the Virginia gubernatorial elections, it declares that nothing is going on in schools that we need to talk about. Critical race theory is not even being taught, media and progressives exclaim. The rubes don’t even know what it is. The next minute, this same Elect declares anti-racism lessons to be imperatives — but to thwart backlash from the rubes, we shouldn’t talk about the new developments.

The 1619 Project — perhaps the Elect’s proudest conceptual showpiece — seeks to reframe U.S. history by “placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative.” Its editors claim, “out of slavery — and the anti-black racism it required — grew nearly everything that has truly made America exceptional: its economic might, its industrial power, its electoral system.” The nation’s leading historians agree the 1619 opus flagrantly ignores established political and economic truths. Insinuating the U.S. is a criminal enterprise not worthy of survival, the Project’s ambitions border on sedition.

Yet this testament has received acclaim from the nation’s highest offices. Its architect, Hannah-Jones, has received a Pulitzer imprimatur for her commentary. “The #1619Project is a powerful and necessary reckoning of our history,” California’s then-senator Kamala Harris commented upon its release two years ago. “We cannot understand and address the problems of today without speaking truth about how we got here.”

Woke is increasingly official policy. California’s newly mandated ethnic studies curriculum contains lessons to make students “agents for change,” and maintains that “one of the main focuses of ethnic studies is translating historical lessons and critical race theory into direct action for social justice.”

Not just in California but nationwide curriculum supervisors and school librarians won’t consider text or trade books that do not make race and far-left fixations the center of the narrative. Health and sex education frameworks often de-center mom-and-dad families, pushing free-form sexuality and more.

Most functional Americans of all ethnicities try to act what is lazily labeled “white.” As University of Pennsylvania law professor Amy Wax and Judith H. Katz have indicated in radically different ways, much of the anti-white critique is merely anti-bourgeois. Making a case for “bourgeois culture” four years ago, Wax drew intense censure for “assertions of white cultural superiority.” Katz’s 1978 anti-racism training manual, White Awareness, introduced the now familiar theme of white privilege. Assumptions of white culture, Katz professed, included two-parent families, hard work and politeness, objective “linear” thinking, respect for authority and law, investment and saving, punctuality, and emotionally blandness.

Woke is unable to understand why black juvenile violence is a problem, or why white parents who harbor no inherent ill feeling about blacks are protective of their children’s minds, innocence, and safety.

If Woke is accelerating, what is to be done? Modernity’s spiritual hole gives it mass psychological entrée. Legalizing drugs, advancing literacy, and rethinking vocational education is a beginning, McWhorter advises. What to do about black social pathologies and demands of impunity? He hedges, too clever to touch the third-rail. Should you question Woke in many quarters, McWhorter said recently on National Public Radio, “You are to be dismissed from polite society. You are to be sanctioned. You can’t be among us. You’re dirty.”

McWhorter closes his book with advice to Woke’s adversaries to stand up, civil but firm, not roll over: I don’t care what you call me…I will not retract…no, we will not refocus our entire curriculum…and so on. It’s a firmly principled approach but not always easy to execute when a marriage, friendship, or career is at stake.

Woke might be a religion, a quasi-religion, a political death cult — maybe it’s just a passing intellectual fad — but comparisons of Woke to Christian sanctions against pagans in the late Roman empire seem apt. Yet Woke offers no salvation or forgiveness, no solace. It seeks never-ending apologies and humiliation. Whatever the restitution, the debt can never be repaid.

The last decade’s experience suggests Woke does not plan to rest until bourgeois America folds its tent. Whether the Democratic Party has the capacity or will or desire to contain lawlessness and social disorder remains an open question. Woke radicals demand temporal power to redeem virtue, mindful of their responsibility to crush heresies.

The priests will be hard to dislodge. The diversity project has captured vast endowments and offices in the nation’s core institutions. As abbots and bishops of old discovered, there’s good money and prestige — even pleasure — in dispensing faith, touched by a singular state of grace and the power to excommunicate.

I'm glad I lived long enough to see this happen.

For over 30 fucking years I've been discriminated against (in employment) for my race and my gender, while being labeled the problem.

And I didn't have enough "free speech" to even talk about it until a few years ago.

My first employer, Crocker Bank, told me directly they would never promote me because of my race and gender.

So I quit, and went to work at Pacific Bell.

Then Pacific Bell told me the same.

So I "quiet quit" and started Dilbert on the side. That only succeeded because the syndication company couldn't find diverse artists fast enough.

The Dilbert TV show on UPN died because its Monday night slot, where it was succeeding, was replaced by an all-African-American comedy block.

And obviously Dilbert would not have been "canceled" worldwide if I were Black.

Well, in the wayback machine, I was also discriminated against. The Great Decortication and Frontal Lobotomy project want technology replaced for the general population with witch doctor ooga booga subversive down tilting fuckery. The REAL technologies remain in the hands of the few and their subservient hireling class.

They want to go back to the good ole days of illiterate or semiliterate populations with the private occult majiks restricted to the bloodlines and certain literate priest castes.

All the strobing ads on regular network TV show candy colored suburban splendor living the 20 million dollar plus lifestyle with minorities where suburban whites used to be.

This is indicative of the mass deceptions the elites crave to market and foist. They want to be elite again with lower, controllable population of limited intelligence and foresight and don't want the harbor at Monaco crowded with upstart wealthy nouveau riche yachts any more. Beguiled and ignorant slave labor will mostly do, because analysis from the Nazi era showed that their projects require mostly obedient, disposable slave labor.

Of course, the current scheme is for the bloodlines to fake self immolate, move the Southern Hemisphere while the Northern Hemisphere is eradicated through nuclear holocaust, then rise again Phoenix-like in a new venue with the depopulation handled.

Louis Galarowicz (@nasorg) and I have acquired a trove of records from University of Colorado, Boulder, that show how the entire university coordinated to advance a system of brazen race-based hiring.

The receipts are pretty astonishing...

The College of Engineering & Applied Sciences said its cluster hire had “the goal of doubling our underrepresented faculty in the college".

Another example:

The Renewable And Sustainable Energy Institute proposed a specific candidate—who it noted was “an outstanding BIPOC scholar” who would increase the program’s “domestic Faculty of Color...”

The Department of Journalism told the admin in its proposal that “Our commitment, should we be successful with this application, is to hire someone from the BIPOC community…”

“We have an urgent and qualified need for BIPOC femme/women of color faculty,” the Department of Ethnic Studies stated, adding that the scholar should contribute to a “thematic cluster hire in racism and racial inequality.”

These are just a few examples, the list goes on and on.

I left my island 30 odd years ago (my great grandparents mothers side was black though I am white or fair or brown or whatever the hell you wish to call me) to gain a first world education (yet kind of educated myself based on life too) because blacks in my islands are among some of the most racist people, to non-blacks and themselves.


A friend of mine who had a black girlfriend for a while told me that he personally saw that black people are quite racist against light-skinned blacks.

Anybody who speaks directly and honestly about the detriments of mass migration will sooner or later attract the racism police. In the eyes of these discourse minders, it is illicit to notice that all human populations do not behave in the same ways, that not all human populations should be intermingled with each other and that diversity is not a strength and often in fact a great problem. Talking like this is bigoted, xenophobic, prejudiced and above all it is racist, and that is very bad because racism caused National Socialism and slavery and Jim Crow and Apartheid and the only way to avoid these evils in the future is to insist that there is only one race, namely the human race, regardless of inconvenient hate facts like crime statistics and social science data and all of the naughty things that the psychometricians have dredged up.

The University of California is being sued by Students Against Racial Discrimination for allegedly restoring race-conscious admissions despite a state ban from Proposition 209, which prohibits considering race in college admissions.
The lawsuit claims that the University of California system is violating Title VI of federal civil rights law and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment by not selecting students in a color-blind manner.
UC officials reported increases in Black and Latino student enrollments, with Black enrollment rising by 4.6 percent and Latino enrollment by 3.1 percent, which the lawsuit argues is suspicious.


Of course the racist left is still discriminating on the basis of race. That's what they do. It's their reason for being.

Yesterday, Chicago’s Marxist Mayor Brandon “Let’s Go” Johnson received a letter from Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon saying there is “reasonable cause” to believe the mayor “made hiring decisions solely on the basis of race,” potentially violating the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In March, Brandon told reporters, “It’s not enough to win the power, you have to protect the power.” Thus, Brandon boasted, “the first thing I did for our people was make sure that I put key black people in positions of power to protect it.”

In a podcast interview two days ago, Brandon bragged even more about how many black people he’d hired into the Mayor’s office. In yesterday’s letter, AAG Dhillon shot back, “Considering these remarks, I have authorized an investigation to determine whether the city of Chicago is engaged in a pattern of practice of discrimination as set forth above,” promising to check into both high-ranking and lower-level jobs.

On Sunday, Brandon gloated that his staff was now 45% Black, 25% Brown, 8% Asian and 30% (lower case) white. After seeing the letter yesterday, his office issued corrected figures: 34% Black, 24% Hispanic, 30% white and 7% Asian. Were you lying then, Brandon, or are you lying now?

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline Amy has revealed how NHS bosses caused her 'crippling anxiety' after she challenged their 'racist' and 'offensive' views in lectures she was forced to attend.

Lecturers at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust told her 'whites don't understand the world' and 'Christianity is responsible for racism because it's European' in a series of 'politically biased' talks.

One of the Tavistock's seminars was even called 'Whiteness — a problem for our time' and included a description on the Trust's website that 'the problem of racism is a problem of whiteness'.

When Amy challenged these controversial views she was 'bullied' by staff and suspended from the course, pending an investigation into whether she is safe to work with patients.

Almost a year later, no investigation has taken place.

It means her dream of becoming a psychotherapist is hanging by a thread.

Harvard fights anti-racism, anti-extremism government compliance that the Left once supported


“Effective immediately, Harvard University’s Student and Exchange Visitor (SEVIS) Program certification is revoked,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote in a letter to the Ivy League institution, referring to the main system by which foreign students are permitted to study in the United States.

Last month, Trump threatened to stop Harvard from enrolling foreign students if it did not agree to government demands that would put the private institution under outside political supervision.

“As I explained to you in my April letter, it is a privilege to enroll foreign students,” Noem wrote.

“All universities must comply with Department of Homeland Security requirements, including reporting requirements under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program regulations, to maintain this privilege,” she said.

“As a result of your refusal to comply with multiple requests to provide the Department of Homeland Security pertinent information while perpetuating an unsafe campus environment that is hostile to Jewish students, promotes pro-Hamas sympathies, and employs racist “diversity, equity, and inclusion” policies, you have lost this privilege.”

More than 27 percent of Harvard’s enrollment was made up of foreign students in the 2024-25 academic year, according to university data.
