This morning I woke up to see I was followed by @libsoftiktok.
If me, one year ago, saw me now, he wouldn’t recognize me at all.
A year ago, I thought @libsoftiktok was a bigot and a racist.
I was unknowingly trapped inside a media ecosystem that told me what to believe and how to think.
I repeated these same lines to others too, without ANY research of my own.
I walked around believing I was morally superior, that I had the “truth” and the “experts” on my side.
I was wrong.
I didn’t see it until Hurricane Helene hit us in Western North Carolina.
I didn’t see it until I watched the ENTIRE media ecosystem I trusted, ignore us, while we were screaming for help.
It was so shocking, so unbelievable, some days I questioned my own reality…
I never thought the media I knew and trusted would turn on me like that, and for what? An election? For politics?
Surely not… surely people suffering would overrule any political decision these media outlets would make, right?
No. It was all a lie.
Everything I thought I knew about the media, about politics, it crashed to the ground and shattered.
I got on X and for the first time, I started seeing the truth, I started sharing my own reality in Western North Carolina…
Honestly, I owe so many people on the right SO many apologies.
Once you break out of the bubble, once you see the media turn on you, once you see the entire apparatus is set up to point you in one direction like a wind-up toy soldier…
You cannot unsee it.
I voted for Democrats my whole life. They never did anything they promised. Once they got our vote, they never did anything they promised.
I vote for a Republican once in my life, and this dude done everything he promised.
Adams to skip New York City’s Democratic primary, run for reelection on nonpartisan line
The mayor has been at odds with his party and wants time to recover from now-dismissed federal charges.
In an interview Monday, Adams said he would “mount a real independent campaign” that relies on “a solid base of people” outside Manhattan, with an emphasis on ethnic minorities who boosted him to victory four years ago. He lamented how the bribery charges federal prosecutors hit him with in September — which a judge dismissed Wednesday — “handcuffed” him, and he promised to be “uninhibited” on the campaign trail.
“I have been this racehorse that has been held back,” he added. “This is so unnatural for me.”
How did the Chicoms solve the problem? Kill all the drug pushers and their addicts.
Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva revealed that he was leaving the Democrat Party, after being a registered Democrat for more than 40 years, and joining the Republican Party. ...
Villanueva, a Democrat, was elected in 2018 on promises of reform. He became more conservative over time, standing up to the Black Lives Matter movement and adopting a tough stance against a rising tide of crime.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Villanueva refused to enforce a directive to close beaches over the Fourth of July weekend. In July 2021, Villanueva also stated that he would not use the department’s “limited resources” to enforce a mask mandate, noting that it was “not backed by science.”
“Forcing the vaccinated and those who already contracted COVID-19 to wear masks indoors is not backed by science and contradicts the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines,” Villanueva wrote at the time.
In response to Villanueva’s announcement that he was leaving the Democrat Party, several people took to social media to congratulate him on realizing that the California Democrat Party left residents and “sanity behind.” Other people noted that the Democrat Party had “lost touch with the every day American.”
Today I announced ending 44 years as a registered Dem and joining the @GOP
