Remember when this winter started with good rains in.the west all these articles by climate "scientists" and globahomo agitprop "news" corporations about how this will be a dry winter for the drought stricken west despite initial rains. Fuck you moron sell-outs, this will go down as one of the wettest winters in recent history in the west. Reservoirs should be full to the brim but I'm sure politicians made sure there is enough drainage and poor planning so they can keep promoting state of emergencies and fuck over their constituents.

It has been pretty cold in wine country now for weeks, def colder than the norm. Also the whole winter in CA has already been wetter than average. They have nowhere to hide
990   PeopleUnited   2025 Jan 19, 9:31pm

Colder and dryer than usual in my neck of the woods this winter so far.

He does not care as he has already cashed the checks. I am sure Gore has contempt for the idiots that consider him an AGW crusader as he flies around in private jets and lives in energy sucking mansions.

Still better than the "Climate Czar" under Biden, who took a private jet to Iceland to receive an award for being a top environmentalist.

Normal here in IL. Cold snap for two days but that's no biggie. Little snow for this time of year. 3-4" total. Feb is usually when we get the blizzards though so we'll see. My kids are wearing shorts most of the time. Our 20 if CA's 45-50.

I dunno about the wetter part: the snow is shit at Kirkwood.

I don't check the Sierras but 38" base seems low by end of January. But it's generally bad across the Rockies as well. I usually like to sneak in a long weekend to MT, but the snowpack is so low and 80% open, so not worth the flight at the moment.

It's higher in Wisconsin than the Sierras and Rockies. Yes they do snowmaking, but our numbers are higher at 1k'. Bridger in MT is doing okay at 50" base. Big Sky is about the same as Kirkwood. I've been when it was 200" this time of year out there. MT I get free lodging so I don't even check CO or UT. I'm not dropping $2k on a solo trip.

Milton. My folks had property there. That's a fuck ton of snow even for IL. Our max is usually 14-20" and we're constantly cold in the winter and that's a once a 5 year event. We do get a weird break for 5-6 days of 40's. Summer in January.

Almost 10"'s is insane for FL close to a body of water like that. Must have been west and northern winds. The Gulf of America is warmer(ish), but it would have eaten the cold up.

I worry about a global cooling more than warming. I can deal with heat and sun. I usually wear long sleeves and pants in the summer. I burn easily and don't mind a little sweat. Stay hydrated.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RENAME GULF OF MEXICO INTO GULF OF AMERICA!!! MEXICO IS WARM, AMERICA IS COLD!!! GET IT?

Good point, lets rename DC to the District of Colombia.

Jesus. That ain't gonna end well. Southerners have zero clue how to drive in the snow.

Don't care about either generally speaking. Cows I like to eat. Keep 'em. Planes and sometimes private. Keep 'em. I don't get how either ever became an issue.

The issue should be with other countries. I remember when Chicago had massive smog. Blamed it on cars. Nope. Two coal fired power plants in a major city that would ramp up in the summer. They shut those down and it went away.

I'm not saying shut down coal either. It was the specific locations being in the city. It was stupid in modern times. I don't know volume, but it takes a shit ton of coal to produce power. I'll walk outside and be like someone is grilling when they start their charcoal grill. Times that by 100k.

Transmission lines are expensive, but put coal plants in the middle of no where. Or obviously make more nukes besides one in 30-40 years or whatever it was. I know there will be NIMBYism but get over it.

Simple. The Globalist Nazis - the elites - are pushing the fraud of Global Warming in order
to tax and control "We The People." In fact, they want to abolish farming.

Well tell them good luck on farming. Farming lobby is large. Probably only beat by Real Estate and Big Pharma. I'm sure there are others.

Most people don't make rural IL or IA a destination for vacation. I know Patrick lived here a while, but not sure if he got out in the fields. While not scenic, it's insane the amount of land for farming. One route to visit my mom is 30 miles of cornfield with the occasional farm. No towns. No gas stations. Just corn or soybeans.

With ethanal and gas, you're not stopping farming. Meat lobby is a big one as a lot of that goes to cows. The combined lobbies for farming are rather large. Really don't know how they could abolish farming and not be certified a retard.

Wind makes sense in the right places. Not everywhere. We have consistent wind 24/7 where I live. 651KW in my county and surrounding ones. I hate IL, but we have one of the most reliable power networks in the country when you include nukes (the most). 10% is wind. They going ape shit on solar now as well, but that only helps during peak heat in the summer for AC.

We also have major nat gas pipelines, so those plants account for even more electricity. It would take a tornado to knock our power out more than 2-3 minutes. Probably don't have a house at that point, so what does it matter.

"Wind makes sense in the right places."

No it doesn't because it is the most expensive electricity on the planet.
A 100MW windfarm requires a 100MW backup gas turbine to produce steady
power for the grid. The frauds building the windfarms expect the consumers to
build the backup gas turbine (at a cost of about $100 million) and go on pretending
they are producing free electricity.

Makes sense - the more CO2 in the atmosphere, the more CO2 gets dissolved in the oceans. Coral shells are made of calcium CARBONATE. Where the fuck do people think the coral get the carbon?

I live near wind farms. Night and day they're spinning. I guess you just don't live in one of those spots? Cite something to prove me wrong? I live in one of the most consistent wind spots in the country. No backup gas generators in sight in 100 sq miles. Gotta go off what I witness. Willing to be proven wrong, but there are no gas generators anywhere near the wind farms.

I actually know a lot of the lessors/farmers that own the land. It's profitable and there's no backup.

I just did!
Renewable energy sources like solar and wind are the most expensive energy sources
on the planet
because they require, watt for watt backup gas turbine generators. The
frauds building these renewables(wind and solar) expect the consumers to build the backup
gas turbines (at a cost of about $100 million for a 100 MW unit windfarm) and go on
pretending they are producing free electricity. These losers need to be thrown in jail for
fraud.

Source would be nice... I'm anecdotal, live it and see it. Know people that work on the wind farm. Know the actual farm owners the windmills are placed in. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. I'll trust the people that do the work on it and owners that lease their land because I actually know them. Just because you say it doesn't mean it's true.

While renewable green energy is not best, the best of it is wind hands down. Hydro would be best but good luck with environmentalist creating dams to generate it. Central Wisconsin power is generated by Petenwell and Castle Rock dams. Have fun trying that today in any part of the country.
