-- Send mongoloid hordes of 20 y.o. iodine defficient conscripts to invade a country with 16 working and 3 shut down nuclear power reactors.
-- Order them to storm the biggest nuclear power station in Europe, containing 6 of these puppies.

One difference is that, presumably, Putin did the invasion because he thought it would be good for him and his fellow oligarchs to have more natural resources. The US does invasions for the benefit of the war and contracting businesses while leaving the natural resources.

You mean the oil won't pay for Iraq?

Putin asked EU to pay for gas in Rouble. That could be pretexted to shut off gas line if no pay or improve exchange value for Rouble.
Gues what, today, Rouble exchange returned to pre-war value. He won.

Wow, wasn't expecting that:

When Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, it took 84 rubles to buy 1 US dollar.
On March 7, it took 131.2 rubles to buy 1 US dollar.
That's a 36% decline in the rubble vs the US dollar.
The ruble is now back where it started on February 24.

(As of March 30th)

Russia is a house of cards with missiles.

It’s hard for most western people to appreciate just how backward Russia is, and needs foreign technology to function. It lost many of the technology and engineering class of people, and the education system sucks.
Russia has an economy similar to Saudi Arabia in several ways, highly dependent on imported goods and technology while exporting fossil fuels.

Soon airplanes won’t be able to fly there, parts are now banned.
This will later happen to trains. Transportation in Russia will be fucked up.

Russia developed a new tank, but since the invasion of Crimea western machinery to produce it is banned, so it is just a prototype. No tanks are being produced today of any kind from further bans.

The Russian military is shitty, its basic command structure is bad, and unwilling conscripts don’t want to fight.
The Ukraine military has been training with NATO advisers and has been battling the Russians in the Donbas region for a while. Ukraine infantrymen are better than the Russians.

The bad decision to invade Ukraine in February led to freezing soldiers, and now muddy conditions for tanks to get stuck. The lack of precision bombs means that the Russian airplanes must fly low and get shot down by missiles when dropping the dumb bombs.

Putin has a confused world view, envisioning a Russia with a larger place in the world than it could ever achieve.

Now the disaster in Ukraine may actually splinter the Federation, if the local government leaders start worrying about their own future.

Imagine Canada which exports resources to the USA and others, attacked Alaska, maybe the piece next to British Columbia.
Assume the USA told Alaska it won’t intervene to save it, but will stop all trade with Canada.
Canada might get Alaska, while ruining their economy in the process.

Nope. I know this isn't true.

Russia has one of the better educational systems on the planet.

I'm in a country where LGBTQ bullshit has to have a fucking LAW to prevent it from being taught to children in 3rd grade and below in public schools. Meanwhile, I know Russian engineers, and they aren't dopes and I use a Russian search engine to find information over Google because it's better at giving me results than Google is.

Russia is now like a young nation, finding its footing, but the West is old and decadent. India, China, and Russia are going to form a bloc. They will be real competition, because our stupid retard assholes have neglected and even subverted us for 3 decades. Americans are complacent. They don't even know what wars their own nation is engaged in. That's how fucking stupid and divorced they are from the government they supposedly elect.

Indians and Chinese use those little changed Russian Math and Physics textbooks from the 19th/pre WW2. Dense prose, only 1-2 pages per concept, a few simple graphs and those often monotone. Almost all of them were written by famous mathematicians and physicists, not by "Educators". They cover a topic for a few days then move on. You keep up or you get left out, no hand holding.

... but doesn't have remotely competetive car design and manufacturing, chip design and manufacturing, electronics design and manufacturing, civil aircraft design and manufacturing, agro tech (practically 100% foreign), food processing tech ( same as above), their universities are nowhere near the top in the ratings (I believe only one is showing in the world's top 100 and it's in the 70s or 80s place), etc.

And their tanks and helos are using French electronics, as we recently learned.

So if they do have such a great education system they are doing pretty good job of hiding the effects of it.

It’s amazing to watch people just follow the Mockingbird Media’s narrative regarding Ukraine and her puppet president. Yet, while most people claim they don’t trust the Mockingbird Media, and rightly so, their actions often speak louder than words. Ukraine is not only in the center of scandal concerning the Biden criminal family, but it is at the heart of a US-funded biolab scandal. However, consider why Russia is moving into Ukraine. Consider they have told us why they are doing it.

This is a problem with their internal infrastructure, not a problem with their education system. When the dollar collapses, it will no longer be advantageous for Russians to move West for work.

Pfft. I see the garbage being coming out of Yale and Harvard today. Hardly the cream of the crop. What people are telling you that the US has the top universities? I bet it's US universities.

It's not economically advantageous to individuals to stay in Russia currently and the investment for local industry isn't there.

I fully expect that China, Russia, and India are going to form an economic and military bloc as a result of past actions of the West. India has a huge untapped labor force, Russia has massive amounts of resources, and China has the infrastructure.

Future is interesting for certain.

100% agreed. Russia is still young and weak, still reeling from the communist devastation brought on by the soviet union days. It's a mistake to underestimate it, like we underestimated China all those years. Putler may be copying Xi here.

PS. From the linked article: "The 110 year old Kommuna will be placed in harms way if it goes to the wreck site. Despite her age and romance, she will be a legitimate naval target. Russian forces destroyed the unique An-225 airlifter, the largest plane in the world. It would be sad if this ship went the same way. "

What is "not true"? The existance of 110 years old ship, it's role as a recovery vessel, it being based in Black Sea or it being used to recover something from the cruiser Moskva? Or that cruiser Moskva is capable of and usually does carry two nuclear cruise missiles?

Did it give you a pause just for a second that just like sinking of Moskva and digging trenches in the radioactive soil at Chernobyl NPP site, this story could be (and, going by the track record, probably is) true? Or there is a mental block preventing one from grasping the fact that PUTIN SO SMART?

Can somebody explain the wisdom of hitting Kyiv city center with missiles at the exact moment UN Secretary-General was visiting there? Deliberate of accidental, how is it good for improving Russia's standing in the world? If it was accidental it demonstrates poor planing and lack of control. And if it was deliberate....

My point is that the US media lies constantly. They don't lie just when they need to lie, they lie almost exclusively. Any claims they make that they don't immediately back up with evidence ought to be discounted in my opinion. Compulsive liars have zero credibility. A 100 old ship being used for recovery? Seems a little sus, you must admit. Putin isn't some dictator, he has advisors and people under him who are presumably competent.

A propaganda czar was just created in the United States. You think that's because of a problem of "misinformation" or "information"?

Of course Putin will be demonized, in any and every way possible, but I do wonder what kind of propaganda the Russians are getting.

Except in rare cases like, you know, cruiser Moskva turning into a submarine or trenches dug in the radioctive soil around Chernobyl NPP... Or Kyiv being hit with 5 cruise missiles right in the middle of UN Secy-General visit.

Ah yes, Chicken Kyiv. Not Chicken Kiev..

Missiles could have come from either side. Unknown.

War has a lot of logic involved with it, but propaganda to support the war doesn't. Back in 1991 I remember when CNN was (supposedly) interviewing people purchasing gas masks in Georgia in case Iraq launched a Scud missile at the United States. Could have been actors, could have been retards - regardless covering that story was stupid.

This is, SUPPOSEDLY, a soldier holding up in the underground area of the Azovstal factory in Mariopol:

original link

Is it true? I have no idea, but I know

1) The USSR built that factory
2) Russia has full blueprints and plans for the underground complex
3) Our news media was claiming it would be a fortress to fight the Russians in Mariopol, and that it has fallen for "our" perspective or has been "liberated" from Russia's perspective.
4) Our media stopped reporting on it.

This is the stuff I look for. When our "news" media stops reporting on something, but independent media keeps going with it, that's something to take note of. SUPPOSEDLY, the soldiers that took refuge in that were given to Adolph Hitler's birthday to surrender - that was the 20th of April. Russia is said to have just sealed them in to let them starve - a terrible way to die - but our "news" won't report on this awful crime.

Why not?

Well, maybe it's all bullshit. We'll know in a few months.
