My friend and his girlfriend have always invoked the MSM narrative when we discussed politics. I always shut them down and told them that's the Rachel Maddow point of view. Finally they started saying "We quit watching Rachell Maddow, we get our news from all of the Cable news channels even Fox news!" To which I showed them how every network is aligned and coordinate on the exact same lead in narrative in their reporting. So fast forward to today, last week they were convinced Russia had Kiev surrounded, and was going to assassinate Zelenski within 96 hours. I pointed out them all of the facts, and lack of facts we've all been discussing here, so I wont bore you with the detail. I told them that all four sides are masters of propaganda and they shouldn't believe anything the news reports to them. They assured me the war was real, and Putin had Zelenski surrounded and we would be at war with Russia within a week.
Well yesterday, they called me and asked me how did I cancel Cable? They had been on the phone for two hours with Xfinnity trying to cancel their cable service, which they kept all of these years, explicitly for Cable news. I told them to bring the box to the office and cancel it there.
LOL you wouldn't believe the hours we've spent arguing and debating my alternate view vs their Cable news well informed view over the last 4 to 5 years.
