AAA Lists Most Expensive States for Gas: 9 of Top 10 Are Run by Democrats
David Hawkins March 8, 2022

According to AAA here are the most expensive states for gas as of Monday:

The American Automobile Association (AAA) has listed the top-ten most expensive states to buy gas, nine of which are run by Democrats.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $4.06 and rising.

The average is now 45 cents more than a week ago, 62 cents more than a month ago, and $1.30 more than a year ago.

And it promises to get worse as the West debates banning Russian oil.

AAA has released a list of the ten states with the most expensive gas prices and most are blue states.

The only red state in the top ten is Alaska, which surprisingly comes in at number 6.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said:

“There are few words to describe the unprecedented rise in gasoline prices over the last week, with massive spikes coast to coast in both gasoline and diesel prices, as oil prices jump to their highest since 2008. ...

California: $5.34
Hawaii: $4.69
Nevada: $4.59
Oregon: $4.51
Washington: $4.44
Alaska: $4.39
Illinois: $4.30
Connecticut: $4.28
New York: $4.26
Pennsylvania: $4.23

I got a Model Y dual motor. Ordered it back in August and it arrived in January. The thing is a spaceship! The speed, acceleration, torque, regenerative breaking (especially the regen breaking!), infotainment/audio system, autopilot (didn't get FSD). Can't imagine the acceleration in the Performance model let alone the Plaid, it is already crazy fast for a mid-range model.

All American car made by a company with a non-woke CEO like Musk.

@socal2
are there things you dont like on the model Y? I am debating if I should go with the model 3 or the Y.
I watched a review video and they complained about the collision avoidance assist. Does your Y sometimes brake for no apparent reason because the cams get confused?

If we only buy 2-3% Russian oil… it shouldn’t affect our prices. But it’s gone through the roof. I paid 95 yesterday to fill up. Used to be 43 average with Trump. We getting fucked here with Biden

I drive a Lexus sedan… filled up $103 today at $6/gal in the tri valley. That was a shocker.

Sick of paying nearly $6 for a gallon of gas?

Just head on down to Tijuana, where prices are nearly $2 cheaper per gallon.

The trip will pay for itself!

A dozen miles south [of Chula Vista], just across the U.S.-Mexico border in Tijuana, regular gas sells for an average of $3.96 a gallon — nearly $2 less than in California.

If spending 2-4 hours in the border queue on the way back is your idea of fun.

I believe USD demand is going to throw off lots of traders due to the fact it will take a massive # of USDs to unwrap the leverage that exist in
commodity shorts, metals and oil particularly. Due to a lack of non-discretionary dollars for the time being metals and crypto go sideways with more
odds of going down some while leverage that was used to short is slowly being pulled out and becomes dry powder to in time reinvest long provoking big
moves to the upside. Both gold and btc have very strong floors gold 1840+/- and btc 40k+/- which imo have tall odds of price being tested in those areas . The same for
oil dipping in price with the fact trader short leverage came in strong at >125 and then Bidens oil drain of US reserves taking oil to it's floor of $85+/- a barrel.

JPY is a main player in shorting commodities and it's weakness kind of indicates that leverage is slowly being closed. In the mean time I am very much looking
for the USD index to reach min. 101+/- and possibly 104+/-. The commodities are approaching the line at the christmas tree for the USD to pop to it's top
then it's epic crash and commodities enter it's epic super cycle. The commodities super cycle will only come if/when USD makes it's final approach to the upside
and imo it has not done so. Although this chart was plotted more with the idea of crypto moves it applies to commodities in general.

So with the shorts and supply chain issues USD is more fundamentally and technically setup to make a run up not dump as soon as many think. Same for S&P
which likely stays sideways but in time becomes another target of money flow when/while the exodus of USD takes place.

Or just stop sweating the small stuff.

It's bad, but not too bad in IL. Had just under 1/4 tank and it was $92 to fill up yesterday. I drive basically the largest non-utility vehicle, truck or van you can drive. I don't blink as we make that in less than an hour, but yeah, my fill ups are at least 30-40% higher. It's nuts.

This is a massive tax on the poor and middle class. It's sad because I know people that are getting burned by this. We need to stop worrying about being "green" and let the market work itself out. I know there's been issues with oil, but does it matter? The huge BP leak in the Gulf of Mexico. That was near one of my favorite places on the planet. There is no difference 10 years later or whatever it has been. A fuck ton of oil was spewing out and the beaches look the same as they always have.

There's micro and macro. On a micro level, sure, some birds and other fish and wildlife got fucked up. But they'll recover. Macro, it's like dropping a penny in a 100k gallon swimming pool. No one will notice it.

We need to be energy independent. That's pretty much reason 1 or 2 that most conflicts arise from. Resources and or profits to get said resources to other people willing to pay for it.

Easy for us to say.

A lot harder for someone living in SoCal, making $15 an hour and has a 1 hour commute to work everyday.

Can you even live in CA for under $25/hr? I did the math and our family would need about $150/hr. We make that much, but had no interest in giving it to the state of CA or a modest house for $1M+ pretty much anywhere.

Welcome back. Been a while or I may have missed your return.

Yeah first day back in a while. Decided I’d check up on the old Patrick membership and it seems like things have stayed the same over the past 2 years. 😂

I think $25/hr would be a struggle in CA but I am thinking your average non-college educated Panda Express cook who makes $15-$17 an hour. Can’t afford an electric car.

$7/gallon gas would be devastating to their budget.

For sure. It's a tax on the poor and middle class. Biden claims to be helping them. Up is down though now. Morons will believe them even as people are jumping ship in the admin and Hunter's shenanigans are back in the spotlight. Worst POTUS in my short lifetime, that's for sure.

I'm 1/2 a century old. I wouldn't consider my life that short, and without any question Biden is the worst president in my lifetime.

My parents thought Carter was the worst, they are in the 80's and I know without any doubt they consider Biden the worst in their lifetime. My grandmother thought Carter was the worst in HER lifetime, despite being a democrat, remembering FDR fondly..

If we had an honest election system, and we don't, I think Biden would be the death knell of the Democratic party. He might be anyhow. If my grandmother was still alive, she won't still be a democrat today with all it's craziness. I was sympathetic to the party until it was shown Obama was a clear Neocon and the entire establishment of the party was on board with that. They lost a lot of people when they sunk Sanders - not that I think Sanders would have been a good president, but he SEEMED like Carter - a nice person that was over his head.

I think Carter got handed a bad situation. Volker is the one that got inflation under control, but it wasn't Carter's fault we had runaway inflation, it was really Nixon that did that by abandoning the gold standard, and that was really the Fed that forced that.

That didn't help, but it got its start before that. Through the 50's and mid-60's, it hovered between 1% and 2% along with a booming economy with a few short recessions. In 1966, the first year spending programs of The Great Society went into effect, it was 3.5%, by 1969 it was 6.2% and it was off and running. It scared Nixon, who imposed wage and price controls in two phases between '71 and '72 to get re-elected and they abated a bit but were ineffective in the long run. Safely in office by '73, the controls were removed and with the Arab Oil Embargo, prices exploded to double digits every month in 1974 for a 13.4% yearly average and would set the tone for the rest of the 70's.

Damn you Cali peeps are getting straight up democrat anal raped.

I just filled up my wife's Hybrid at $3.52/gallon and I thought that was HIGH (I'm used to paying in the $2.60-$2.70 for 87).
139   WookieMan   2022 Apr 11, 7:23am

Gas prices are bad, but I think it's being a bit dramatized. Where I'm at gas prices have hit this level before. Lived through it just fine. Whether you love or hate Biden, at some point he'll be forced to fix the situation. Fact is leftist use as much or more energy thinking they're doing the "right" thing.

It's no different than people up in arms saying Trump was a crazy person and would destroy the world. I'd say he did a good job overall. But if Biden wants to not destroy the Democratic party, he NEEDS to get fuel prices down. Dems generally are poorer and this is essentially a gas tax on the poor who vote for him. It's all a game anyway, but Democrats are going to lose the House and probably the Senate if Biden doesn't get shit calmed down. Get gas down and stop with any Covid bull shit. Move forward. Don't worry about the "green" people. We're more efficient as a society than ever. Think about 60 watt light bulbs. I'd think most people have 8-10 watt LED bulbs now. That's a fucking massive reduction. Go pump some fucking oil Joe. We're the greenest we've ever been.

Really? Why? Democrats would love to have $8/gallon (or more) gasoline in the US.
