6.10 already in our area. Fucking $6.10 It is insane.

And news of course ignores it, it's just ok. they are too fucking busy worrying about some country fuck knows where in Europe near Russia. I'm fucking pissed. What affects me, gas prices. Hate the gas prices, hate the media. This country is ran by assholes.

Maybe instead of sending Ukraine billions they should send us gas vouchers, it's our fucking money!

Just ranting, really upset over this shit. It's lowering our budgets significantly because I'm not rich.

The reality of the energy density of the liquid fuels, what we get for what we pay, $6 or even $20 is an incredible bargain, compared to feeding-watering-taking care of horses.

We will pay whatever we have to, for our jobs and our businesses and whatever, causing spending on other stuff to drop.

Very bad for the economy. Many businesses will be killed by these prices.

Sacramento, Davis, Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo are separated by about 10 miles each. The reason for this is a horse drawn wagon could cover 10 to 30 miles a day and little towns naturally popped up where people rested for the night.

I'm glad I don't commute on a horse.

Oh, you didn't hear the explanation.

It's all Putin's fault you're paying higher gas prices. Jen Psaki said so.

It's not as if a government official lied through their teeth, our free and fair press wouldn't call them out. It's a free country after all. It's a dumbocracy. Any public government official telling OBVIOUS lies to the public like they were fucking idiots, would surely be called out, if they weren't, why that would mean the public are just a bunch of hair brained idiots that would believe any BS if a government official said it.

And we all know that's not the case.

My father, who was born in 1938 told me a story about his uncle he heard when he was a kid - his first ride in a car.

His uncle was driven from Harrisville NY to Star Lake. He got there in an hour. He never gone so fast in his life!

They are 20 miles apart.

I wonder how many talked to the Silent generation when you were kids. My grandmother and her siblings told me that "life was so much easier". They got vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and dish washers introduced to them in their lifetime. They used to beat rugs to clean them, scrub clothes on a wash board, and of course all dishes were washed by hand. Most of them didn't bother with a dish washer, it only took a few minutes to clean by hand anyhow. Why bother with a dish washer?

Truth be told, this is a tax on the poor and working class. It doesn’t impact the well off folks IMO. I hope the poor and working class folks, who voted for Biden, are happy with their votes.

Plug-in hybrid cars must be getting a good mark-up now. Econ 101.

The reality is most of the rest of the nation doesn’t pay anywhere near what we do in Commiefornia.

This is because of a combination of yammering and pressure from faux environmentalists resulting in stupid rules imposed on the processing of oil into gas in Commiefornia and an insatiable lust by Commiefornia politicians for other peoples money they can spend, resulting in the highest gas taxes in the country.

And we won’t even get into the fucking absolute lunacy of Biden shutting down the Keystone pipeline and making other moves that slowed the US pumping and fracking and getting our own fucking oil instead of relying on assholes that wish harm on my treasured US of A.

Fuck the Democrats. Fuck Gavin Newsome. Fuck Joe Biden.

Of course, instead of the scum lying press and government blaming it on Putin, they should call it the Biden pay cut.

Families living paycheck to paycheck just got slashed over 1-1.5k per month in fuel costs and inflation. Santa Cruz is a place you can get along without a car, but not often the greater Bay Area (richwicks excepted) and certainly not LA.

My mother's generation saw the first of a lot of things we have today as well. The youngest in her family of seven, she was born in 1902 and started teaching in 1924. She would have driven or my father taken her to school in that day's equivalent of a Model T Ford and it wouldn't have been a new one. When she retired 46 years later in 1970, the difference in years between today and 1976, she bought a brand new LTD with all the comforts available at the time. Her generation was also the last generation to teach real subjects in real schools by real teachers.

My grandmother was a school teacher in a 1 room school house, when she was 19.

Ever look at a schoolbook from that time?

My GREAT grandmother went to school in a horse and buggy. She didn't believe man landed on the moon, she thought that it was complete hogwash. I can appreciate her disdain considering she was born before cars were a thing, before the Wright Brothers flew, before telephones or radio were common. She saw the invention of television. I think she died before computers became a household thing.
