Why the hell is everything about feelings?

What about learning to manage your feelings in an appropriate manner?

What isn’t appropriate is teaching kids about sexuality at ridiculously young ages. We already know the horrible devastating impact that sexual abuse has on children…essentially changes the entire course of their life. Why in the universe would anyone want to subject very young children to even small elements of that?

All because some self centered assholes have “be themselves”? Seriously? I talk differently, I act differently around children BECAUSE THEY ARE CHILDREN!!!.

These people are sick.

Things really have come full circle. This was the mantra in the late 60's and into the 70's. You had to be "authentic". I remember one girl explaining her violence towards someone who disagreed because it was the way she felt. Even if you can't control your feelings, you can control your behavior.

I was on a United flight today and had the window seat. Some guy in the isle. Eventually a mom and little girl came down and mom had to put the girl in the center seat in my row.

She's maybe 6.

I have a batch of movies for flights on my laptop. I could only watch one: Shawn of the Sheep

Because it was a cartoon and it's the only one I had that wouldn't corrupt a kid.

Anyhow, she was a pretty good kid. Bounced around a bit but didn't kick the back of wookie's chair like I definitely would have at that age.

But I ignored her except for one comment about, "It's bright huh!?" when I pulled up the window shade.

With all the shit that's been going on of late I'm just not comfortable at all speaking to some kid I don't know and whos parents I don't know.

When we were de-boarding I made a point to let her mom know how well behaved her daughter was. Mom started to beam a smile. Then an announcement came on that they'd missed their connection to Lima Peru.

Smile went away. United sucks balls.
