Twatter, as I recall needs your phone number to register. Once they link that to your account, it's absolutely permanent. I never will link my phone to anything on the net. It's a pain in the butt sometimes, but there's no phone # linked here for example. I could have 70 accounts here, and YOU wouldn't know, but Patrick would.

Part of the problem is you don't want trolls and PR assholes on your platform (or you want AUTHORIZED ones) - I think I have a concept (that MAY lead to group stupidity) but will allow people to identify bad actors - i.e. propagandists and trolls, and just eliminate them.

That is (mostly) an ECC key. It's unique in the world, it's unique to my machine, and my account running it. I can generate 100's of thousands of those and they will all be unique, even if everybody generated 100's of thousands of them, no two are likely to match.

You can not randomly connect to anybody by GUESSING their ID - there's too many possible numbers. If that's your ID, there's no way to get spam is there? Why do we only have 10 billion phone numbers? Dial a random number and you're likely to hit somebody. It should be Trillions of Trillions of Trillons of possible numbers. You'd guess numbers randomly for a lifetime, and never hit a person.

Anonymity has its problems, but they can be identified over time. I used to be a big film buff and IMDB was great, it would recognize you liked movies A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H, and I and it would then find that somebody else liked A,B,C,D,J,K,L,M, and N. And it would make honest suggestions that because you liked certain films, the other person would probably have the same taste and vice-versa. I don't think such a thing should be limited to just films. The problem is offloading it to a personal server instead of a centralized one and a server today, it's $100. Your phone is a fucking server today.

Ive seen some sites that will sell or rent you a phone number's SMS access for a few bucks. I tried some free ones once, but all the phone numbers were already registered w/ twitter and instagram, and you cant register the same # twice, so it wont work. It makes me wonder if I would have the same issue even with a paid phone number.

An alternative is to buy a burner prepaid phone for 20-30 bucks, and youll prob get a phone number with it. You can then use prepaid MVNOs to get new phone numbers by buying a new sim card (many MVNOs will sell you a sim card + 1 mo of airtime for $10-25, allowing you to get a new phone number). You could actually just do that with your current phone, but they (phone company) will be able to link the phone IMEI number and link your accounts, so buying a new phone gets you a new IMEI that isnt linked to your phone. You may not care about the phone company being able to link, and just want a new phone number so that twitter doesnt know who you are, in which case, just get a new sim.

Kinda expensive for a twitter account tho...

It's fine to be hopeful, but Clinton had "a feud" with George H. Bush, Clinton had "a feud" with George the Lessor, and Obozo had "a feud" with George the Lessor.

I have no trust in these mother fuckers. This jives with a few of my indian/chinese immigrant tech coworker friends. They all seem to view "the right is racist" as fact, and view dems as fighting for minority immigrants like them, dismantling whyte privilege and supremacy so they an have a more fair shot in america. Im not surprised they took on such views, as its what the dem platform is designed to do, and seeing past it IMO usually requires paying close attention, and many people just dont care much about politics, and so dont deep dive and think deeply about some of this stuff. I think most live in quite the liberal media echo chamber.
