Either that, or they jack your rates. Seems to me that the type of person that is going to have a dangerous breed dog is probably someone with no assets.

The driver of the Jeep could sue the dealer for even more money than the guy's family is trying to get.
Sue them for letting an incompetent driver drive his Jeep.
Fuck up's like that, are usually part of a pattern. I bet they could find them if they dug deep enough on the guy that ran him over.

Most insurers will just make note of the animal and will advise the client they will not cover any damages/claims resulting from action of the animal.

I actually had a visit from the ins co for the sole purpose of taking a look at my dog.

Here is another surprise for those that did not know this. Your car insurance carrier may not cover this as well so you are on the hook solo.

On a side note if you are one of the dog owners of the 15 or so breeds considered high risk/dangerous and you did not inform the insurance company that the animal is in the household - then the dog does something - you may / probably will be dealing with the financial end o...

You would be shocked/stunned to know the actual number of homeowners in very nice neighborhoods with plenty of assets and very little common sense who have these breeds and have not informed their insurer.

My brother-in-law breeds American Pit Bulls, some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. The mother is aggressive, but he doesn't walk them, which can cause problems with any dog, any breed. Dogs are what you train them to be. People who want to blame a certain breed I've noticed don't have very much knowledge about dogs, and tend to have other issues with personal responsibility, i.e. looking for something else to blame.

The first problem is he took it to a dealership. Unless you use a coupon, you're paying out the ass for routine service. Better to use a quick lube place, or your regular mechanic.
