SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - When a man took his Jeep to Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge on March 13, 2020, it was for a routine oil change. But an employee died after another employee - who couldn't drive a stick shift - got behind the wheel to move the Jeep and hit and killed the first employee.

Two years later, an attorney for the man who died isn't suing the other worker or the dealership; he's suing the man who owned the Jeep. The man who was waiting in a lobby. The man who was just there for a routine oil change. As it turns out, this is the law and this story is about to get complicated.

The employee, Jeffrey Hawkins, was a married 42-year-old, father of four, and a lifelong mechanic. He worked at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge and was killed that March day by another employee who was driving the Jeep.

Lawyers are scum and people who ruin innocent peoples lives with lawsuits are WORSE scum. Just because you CAN doesn’t mean you should. This is why things like the mafia and hired killers exist. People that file these lawsuits have no morals and should be very scared to do so.

Did they check for aggressive behavior, or just visually glance?

Seems to me that the type of person that is going to have a dangerous breed dog is probably someone with no assets.

You would be shocked/stunned to know the actual number of homeowners in very nice neighborhoods with plenty of assets and very little common sense who have these breeds and have not informed their insurer.

My brother-in-law breeds American Pit Bulls, some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. The mother is aggressive, but he doesn't walk them, which can cause problems with any dog, any breed. Dogs are what you train them to be. People who want to blame a certain breed I've noticed don't have very much knowledge about dogs, and tend to have other issues with personal responsibility, i.e. looking for something else to blame.

The first problem is he took it to a dealership. Unless you use a coupon, you're paying out the ass for routine service. Better to use a quick lube place, or your regular mechanic.
