“Mass shootings have become routine in the United States and speak to a society that relies on violence to feed the coffers of the merchants of death. Given the profits made by arms manufacturers, the defense industry, gun dealers and the lobbyists who represent them in Congress, it comes as no surprise that the culture of violence cannot be abstracted from either the culture of business or the corruption of politics.”—Professor Henry A. Giroux

The United States is the number one consumer, exporter and perpetrator of violence and violent weapons in the world.

Violence has become America’s calling card.

We are a military culture engaged in continuous warfare.

We have been a nation at war for most of our existence.

We are a nation that makes a living from killing through defense contracts, weapons manufacturing and endless wars.

We are being fed a steady diet of violence through our entertainment, news, sports and politics.

All cultures from the dawn of civilization are "warrior" cultures. Notice all the statues worldwide of all the war heroes - ever see a statue of a pacifist? France still admires Napoleon, Great Britain still admires Nelson, Mongolians admire Genghis Khan, Africans admire Shaka Zulu. Historical generals like Rommel, Patton, Zhukov, Grant, Caeser, Hannible, and Alexander are held in high regard. Even lower-level warriors like Pancho Villa, Geronimo, and Sitting Bull are admired and have statues. Even the Japanese like MacArthur and the Americans liked war hero Eisenhower enough to make him president. And what would Kennedy be without the PT-19 story? Hell, around here they even celebrate the pirate Blackbeard. All empires since ancient Persia were built by warrior kings admired for their conquests. We even named a car company after conqueror DeSoto, and cities aft...

I should like to point out that the legacies of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Mark Milley, David Petraeus, Hillary Clinton - etc - will just be one of relief, because the bastards are finally dead.

How many people here even knew that Donald Rumsfeld is dead?

The people that have been making war for the last 20 years are traitors, and everybody knows it, at least subconsciously.
