I put up with a lot of bad calls by Trump, defended him. But this is too much.

I will still vote for him in 2024 if he is the Candidate, but now I prefer DeSantis.

My birthplace. You have hurt my feelings so bad. I will never forgive you.

Actually, Navy brat, can't remember a thing about the place. I know my father said he shot a sailor with a .22 who was trying to burgle the house, as the sailor was trying to climb over the fence to escape. I gather it wasn't that bad a wound, my father never got into trouble for it, John Wayne times.

Lol. No offense intended. FL currently has this reputation as being good. First time in this specific section of the state. It’s bad. It’s generally white trash too. Polite southern blacks. More afraid of the tattooed whites.

DeSantis is getting his ass kicked in the polls against Trump now.

Panhandle is my people generally. In Jacksonville currently. This place is a shit hole. Like absolute dumpster fire. Went to St Augustine today. Shittiest beach I’ve ever been by a long shot. Oak St Beach in Shitcago blows it away. Not even a debate.

Desantis is getting more love than deserved. Central FL is kind of a shit pit. I like his covid response but it’s not a well run state by a long shot and that’s saying something from an Illinoian.

You gotta go South towards Daytona before the Beaches improve.

Jax has been a shithole forever. Most cities in Central Florida, running down from Talahassee to Gainesville Ocala, are shitholes. Orlando is now a shithole, Orange was a decent Republican County not all that long ago. Seminole was redder, too. Now full of America hating Arabs, Blacks, and others.

DeSantis has been better among the governors but too many Bushites around him now.

Stay far away from Tampa. The West Coast is heavy, heavy White Methheads. Sadly, they've spread to the East Coast, too.

The drug war was won, the intelligence agencies control it.

When is the last time you heard of a drug dealer being arrested? Who is Hunter Biden's crack dealer? The drug war was just to eliminate competition.

Their trivialization memes of Russia will get us all killed. So what is USA? A puppet kakistocracy masquerading as a country? Question is, what blackmail do they have on DeSantis? He's not 'as bad' as McCain, who was truly one of the most despicable, but then, he still has time. One would hopium he is a counter-insurgency infiltrator, but that's increasingly looking like a stretch.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is folding to woke Disney, pushing a bill in the state legislature to quietly restore their special tax breaks after posturing publicly against the megacorp.

DeSantis is making the capitulation even as he and RINO Republican leaders in the state claim that they are punishing Disney – the exact opposite of what is happening.

“The bill maintains the current tax-exempt status of property of the district and bonds issued by the district,” the analysis of DeSantis’ measure states.

DeSantis is using sleight of hand to claim he is cracking down on Disney when he is really giving them what they want and enabling Disney’s campaign contributions to fill Republican coffers in the years to come.

I guess when given 'The silver or the bullet' option by the Swiss Octagon, DeSantis chose the silver. Also, he keeps the worst imaginable political company. Maybe Jeb promised his family places at the Crawford deep nuclear fallout shelter underground compound and Globalist tunnel complex when the lever is pulled on WWIII.

Good explanation by Robert Barnes on how Soros and the Deep State are trying to one shot both DeSantis and Trump. Globalists were upset that DeSantis went counter to their agenda on Covid, appealing to populace politics? It means that he was always slated to be part of their agenda.

It's not DeSantis quietly doing this, it's our media that is being quiet.

We need to return media to the public, and not corporations. I do not trust DeSantis - I think he's another Barack Obama - superficially he looks good, but look at his past, and he's a Neocon asshole.

This is where I was coming from, that he was the 2028 Trump Successor.

But these Bushite advisors, and from what I'm hearing about Disney, has me doubting.

He DID jerrymander to a far greater degree than the FL Republican House was planning to do, and has cracked down on CRT.

He can be redeemed but he's got to come correct and bow down to the TrumpMaster.

Lefty outlet Axios ran a story Friday headlined, “DeSantis Signs ‘Medical Freedom’ Laws.” Yes — Axios put “medical freedom” in scare quotes.

On Thursday, Governor DeSantis signed several bills related to medical freedom, creating the strongest patient and covid laws anywhere in the country. What was also fascinating was how Axios framed its “medical freedom” narrative: as a 2024 campaign political issue.

This means that Axios agrees with us, that medical freedom — responding to the pandemic’s overreach — is now a popular political issue. In fact, Axios even admitted, “Republican strategists have said messages like DeSantis’ will resonate beyond the conservative base into a general election, to suburban voters still angry over responses like school closings.”

See that? Axios agrees the medical freedom issue “resonates BEYOND the conservative base.” Beyond. Far beyond. It’s a unicorn, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a hot political issue with cross-party appeal … that democrats can’t access because they tripled-down on mandates and lockdowns.

Haha, Axios was appalled that DeSantis called the holy vaccines “mRNA jabs:”

The potential 2024 presidential contender, has made medical freedom a key issue, casting aspersions on tools aimed at stopping COVID, such as dubbing the vaccines “mRNA jabs.”

“A lot of people were harmed by what the federal government did and a lot of states did,” DeSantis said during an event in Destin, Florida on Thursday, the Pensacola News Journal wrote. “Today there are still physicians out there trying to jab babies with mRNA shots.”

And double-haha, Axios couldn’t bring itself to claim the vaccines STOP covid, it just said the jabs were “aimed at stopping covid,” which isn’t even close. Aimed at, but missed.

According to Axios, Florida’s newly-enacted laws offer many protections. The laws:

— block businesses and government entities from requiring covid vaccination, testing, or mask-wearing, to gain entry or access services,

— protect alternative medical treatments,

— block all “gain-of-function” research, and

— create religious conscience protections so healthcare workers may decline to provide controversial services like abortion, sterilization or assisted suicide.

Really?

Who we elect as President doesn't have any impact on your life?

I know alot of people (including myself) who have been negatively impacted by the last 2+ years of the Biden administration.
179   fdhfoiehfeoi   2023 May 17, 9:27am

Zero impact. Inflation started really taking off in 2012 under the people who have power to make those calls, bankers. Don't remember the Bernake election, do you? Epstein is the one who trafficked children, didn't elect him either.

See, we don't decide anything worth deciding by a vote, unless it's at the community level. Now in my home and family I've hedged against inflation, learned to grow food, formed relationships with local farmers, taken my family out of the city when people got crazy, joined a survival community in case of collapse, purchased guns, ammo, and taught my kids how to resist tyranny.

Biden never picked up trash in my neighborhood, Trump never hired me to work at his company, Obama didn't buy any of our cars, Bush didn't carry in my groceries. None of them ever did shit for me, or had any say in anything important in my life.

If you feel that way, I feel sorry for you. You're living in slavery to people who never want to see you free.

We don't elect the president. Do you really think Biden was actually elected? Hey, did ANYBODY really want Barack Obama OR Mitt Romney as president? The reason Trump was elected is that it was fucking Satan Incarnate versus Unknown Clown and the establishment was just flabbergasted that unknown clown got so many votes that they couldn't stuff the ballot boxes enough.

Unknown Clown was blocked from doing anything for 4 years.

So it doesn't make a difference who is president. All it changes is what bullshit you hear on television, and if you don't bother to watch the damned propaganda box, then it makes literally no difference.

And if Ron DeSantis wants to be the next President, he needs to get his inspiration somewhere other than Donald Trump.

He needs to channel the spirit of Ronald Reagan. ...

Reagan won because he so clearly believed in America’s promise - and because he’d lived it, and he’d run a state that embodied it.

It’s easy to forget now, but California used to be a place that people wanted to live, where taxes were reasonable and a middle-class salary could buy you a house - not on the beach, sure, but a few miles inland.

California wasn’t paradise, the air was dirty and the traffic nasty and Los Angeles almost completely segregated, but the schools were decent and the economy good and it worked.

California isn’t California anymore.

Florida is.

And as much as anyone, DeSantis is the reason why.

Three years ago, DeSantis bet his and his state’s future on his response to Covid. He did something Reagan never had the chance to do, never needed to do, he bet against government interference and for individual freedom in a visceral, personal way.

You didn’t have to wear a mask in Florida if you didn’t want to. You didn’t have to stay in your house. You could choose to keep your kids home or send them to school, to keep your business open or closed. DeSantis bet against lockdowns and masks and vaccine mandates.

He bet on the Constitution and the rights it promises.

And he won. In the simplest, most profound way. Despite the left’s shrieking, the bodies didn’t pile up like cordwood. Three years later, the age-adjusted Covid death tolls in Florida are basically indistinguishable from other big states.

Americans noticed. And they voted with their feet. California has lost 700,000 people in the last three years. More stunningly, New York City has lost almost 500,000, more than 5 percent of its residents - and a lot of them moved to Florida. (By the way, this migration shows exactly how much anyone really cares about climate change. Florida is barely above sea level and ground zero for hurricanes, but people can’t go there fast enough.)

This is the record Ron DeSantis should own.

During an unprecedented crisis, he stood against medical authoritarianism and government overreach (and the media) and for freedom. He believes in the Constitution and personal choice. ...

But DeSantis cannot possibly win by being whiner and more self-pitying than Donald Trump, Trump has the monopoly there, and why would he want to, anyway? Why even try to be President if all you see is the American sun setting in the west, escaping to China? ...

DeSantis believed in freedom enough to stand up for it in 2020 against the paper tiger that was Covid, just as Reagan stood up to the Soviet Union 40 years before. Why not stand for freedom again?

Win or lose, that’s a fight worth having.

He was a JAG lawyer at Guantanamo. What he did was listen to prisoner complaints, reported them to his superiors, to have whatever the prisoners complained about intensified.

So Guantanamo has been around for over 20 years - name something that was gotten out of it? Anything.

This man supported torture as a lawyer. I'd be very cautious with him.

In a non-paywalled article yesterday, the New York Times ran a whiny but encouraging story headlined, “Disney District, Now Under DeSantis’s Control, Ends Its D.E.I. Programs.”

Disney used to fully manage the controversial Reedy Creek district acting as its own county government. But last year, after Disney officially opposed Florida’s ban on sex education in grades K-3, arguing that very young children should learn about all the minute details of atypical and historically-abhorrent sexual practices, Florida’s legislature revoked the media giant’s long-standing sweetheart political deal, allowing the Governor to appoint a new slate of directors.

Unsurprisingly, the New York Times undersold the headline. In fact, according to the press release issued by the new district governors, the DEI program will be “abolished,” along with the odious practice of using race to award contracts...

Calling Disney’s DEI rules for the district “un-American,” new District Administrator Glenton Gilzean explained in the official statement that, “Our district will no longer participate in any attempt to divide us by race or advance the notion that we are not created equal.”

Looking forward to the DeSantis/Newsome debate (if it happens).

I have been dreaming about a big bright line election where we have politicians not mired in personal or political scandal and they can just debate actual policies that impacts normal people (education, criminal justice, borders, welfare, energy, taxation AND election integrity...). Better yet, having 2 active Governors who have to answer to the success or failures in their individual states and can't hide behind fuzzy rhetoric. DeSantis can say, "why can a big population state like Florida count our votes in one night while California takes weeks and weeks?"

But we likely won't get that debate in the next election because Republicans have become radicalized by the fact that Democrats are running circles around Trump and Republicans having mastered the ability to abuse the Government bureaucracy against its political opponents.

So we are going to pour money into Trump's coffers to pay for the legal bills against these B.S. charges and will be pulling our hair out in 2024 when Newsome or Whitmer or some other Democrat cleans our clocks again.

What has Trump done to secure the election next year other than to say we shouldn't play by the same rules Democrats are using to clean our clocks (mail in ballots, ballot harvesting, early voting)?

States like Michigan have basically enshrined mail-in voting in their state Constitution.

DeSantis can legitimately point out that Florida cleaned up their election system after the mess in 2000 and can get results the same day. Places like California have gotten less secure.

DeSantis was a JAG lawyer at Guantanamo. What he, supposedly, did was listen to prisoner complaints.

He found out what they were complaining about and reported this to his superiors. Once his superiors knew what was bothering them, like playing music 24 hours a day 7 days a week to reduce the ability to sleep, they increased the volume.

Don't be so ready to trust. What did we get out of Guantanamo? Well, our nation can now torture people, provided, they aren't on US soil when they are being tortured.

What information did we get out of him? What crime did he commit? What the purpose of the torture?

There was none. He didn't commit a crime.

I don't believe DeSantis is a full on PoMo globalist. I do believe he has an ego, which can be a good thing, and he's proven himself tough to do things in Florida. A lot more so than Abbott the Wimp of Texas.

However, he's got to get on the MAGA Express and fully endorse Trump and become fully MAGAized 2024-2028 and abjure all the Bushes.

He's also got to declare Medicare and Soc Sec sacrosanct.

We will never return to the Ryan-Bonehead-Hasert do-nothing but tax cuts and wars GOP. I'd rather the democrats win and accelerate the pain. We had 25 years of GOP Establishment Congresses, broken only by a couple of very short Dem breaks. Yet here we have Trannies in Schools, the Dept of Ed still exists, we have a woke military, and for most of the past decade or so the GOP has rolled over for big government every time. 2017-2018 should have been a Bonzana for Libertarian-Conservative mass extinction of Shitlib programs, budget slashing, woke smashing, fun time. Instead we got Ryan dragging his heels on purpose to make sure Big Corps didn't lose their contracts and the status quo prevailed.

America is doomed if Republican victories merely result in tapping the brakes towards Post-Modern Globalism. We must turn the car around entirely.

"Oh, we limited the growth of the Dept of Education by only 20% over the next 7 years." is no flex. "We eliminated the Dept of Education" is a flex.

Myths that were totally exploded in the past few years:

* The SCOTUS ruling proved abortion is not the Third Rail dangerous to Republicans like Nikki Haley and others claim. The elimination of Roe v. Wade was one of the most ANTI-CLIMATIC events in my lifetime. Half the Women in the USA were expected to pick up arms and start shooting shit up over it, but suddenly not very much happened.

* The Russian Army is a threat. It couldn't reasonably advance to Kiev in weeks, much less days, hasn't advanced, and has been on the defensive for a year now. If this is is how the Russian Army performs against a Client State on the periphery of Europe, one of the poorest and disunified European countries if not THE most, then we can really cut back on NATO commitments.

* The Fed can forever stop inflation by jiggering the money supply, and Wall Street/Fed/Frankfurt is infallible
