... for an entire month.

"Bananas heal almost every disease known to man....
I usually eat mung beans with granola every 2nd Friday....
You know how great a plant based diet is? I sleep 10 hours a day now, when I was a meat eater...
I don't know why my Calico Whiskers keeps needing to go to the vet for dehydration, I force feed her 2 beets a day...
Farting incessantly is a sign of maximal digestive health, the stinkier the better..."

That's the same reason Pride sucks. Just replace Bananas, Mung Beans, and Granola with Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE). And Trans Kids. And dudes claiming to be women with thick beards, Adam's Apples, and 1970s late disco era garish makeup.

yeah its technically a berry and berries have a lot of antioxidants

i could go vegetarian if looking to save money by eating rice and lentil beans, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cinnamon and spice oatmeal, home made red sauce with rigatoni pasta, fried eggplant on Italian bread, pasta primavera, vegetable fried rice, etc

i read chicken eggs are considered vegetarian

i could eat crab soup and shrimp without feeling too guilty and skip on eating chicken, pork and red meat

Imagine being locked in a room that has a big black pot and a cannibal? Cannibals are meat eaters too!

Made homemade Gyros tonight. Blend of beef and chicken (didn't have lamb... baaaaahhhh). I don't get people that don't eat meat. Who gives a shit. They have no ground to stand on. It tastes amazing if made or cooked for you properly. I put the plant stuff on top of the meat. Problem solved.

Give no shits about a cow, pig, chicken that will die at some point. They can't talk. Plants are living anyway. It's one of the dumbest arguments because someone went to a petting zoo as a kid and had shitty parents. Eat what you want, but legit vegans will die earlier as humans. Feel bad for yourself if you're on that team. That cow will be laughing at you.

I'm Vegan as fuck, I could eat Cabbage, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Squash, simmered in a ham hock broth and a little butter for good measure.
That's some damn good eatin, and wont miss a meat entre when I eat it. Where's my pepper vinegar and fresh sliced onions?

I like the 15 bean soup simmered with a ham hock or smoked turkey wings.

I once made an Italian sausage, I thought I bought equal ground pork and ground beef, but when I got home I had ground lamb and ground beef.
So I followed the Italian sausage recipe as planned, and it turned out to be a dead ringer for gyro meat.
So change of plan went back to the store and grabbed Pita bread, Yogurt, green onion, limes and dill. The hoagie rolls I had for the peppers and onions were saved for another day, another sammich.

I made a rectangle patty about the width and length of a gyro slice, and baked it. Then cut thin slices off that and seared it in a skillet before making the gyros. The best gyros I've had, outside of a good Greek joint that does it right. Damn sight better than Gyroville.

It's amazing what lamb will do and make the recipe something totally different.

My vegetable list above simmered in ham and butter, is an either list and not all at the same time.

There used to be a New England butcher store down here called Pen Dutch. They had that inch and half to two inch thick Kielbasa with the red snappy skins, and Smokey flavor.
We used to put in red beans that were to die for. I haven't seen a decent Kielbasa since they closed. It's the way I remembered Kielbasa when my Mom and Dad used to buy it and make it. Now you'll see Johnsonville, or Hillshire Farms, it's about 3/4 to an inch tops, and just taste like some crappy sausage. Not the distinct Kielbasa I think of when want Kielbasa. It should be crime what they call Kielbasa these days.

My past 2 trips to the local HEB and no Italian sausage. Well, they had `chicken` Italian sausage or whatever.

Costco used to sell that stuff in giant packs when I was in San Diego but I quit going to Costco over a year ago because they quit selling prime steaks. In Texas.

I generally don't buy chain store meat. Good friends with a butcher/family friend. Maybe hit the local grocery store and catch the sale meat. I live once. I'm getting the good stuff unless it's on sale when getting other cheap stuff.

I still like getting a 1/4-1/2 a pig/cow about this time of year. I think we have 3-4 freezers? I'm outlawed from grocery shopping because I'll drop $200 when I go out to get a tomato and an onion.

That sounds about right. You could get breakfast at the Four Seasons for what I pay at the cash register when I run to the store to grab a few items for Sunday country breakfast.

Was hard to get fresh meat in California where BBQ mostly meant grilled chicken. Costco and Sprouts were the only options I knew of. I have a pal here and we're debating splitting 1/2 a cow soon. I probably need more more freezer as I've 1/2 filled the one I bought for that already.

I still have to fly back to the bay area once in a while to check into work headquarters in SF. Less and less options for meat at restaurants etc.,. Lots of different faces vs. 20 years ago. Many more muslims... Burqas in the molecular biology labs and so on...

Sounds good though. Tomorrow is Sunday... I know pilots do their $100 burgers on the weekend, but with inflation it's probably a $300-400 burger now.

I took my kids to Bass Pro Shops today to look at the fish tank and window shop for fishing gear, to inspire them to not be little pains in the ass.
As only serious people can fish.
But I was checking out the sausage making section, and couldn't find any quick cure salt. No type of curing salt, not even pickling salt. They have these $22 packs of premade seasons for one batch of sausage. But no salt on its own, that could make many batches. The stores don't sell decent sausage as many meat producers have been run out of business. I think they are gearing us up to eat zee bugs. They don't want us making sausage out of roadkill when the shit hits the fan.
Come to think of it, how would a vegan like being trapped in a room with Patnet?

This is true, lots of ranchers complaining that there are only 4 meat packing companies left after all of the mergers. Where 50 years ago they had their choice of several with only a short local drive.

We get our meat from a family farm in CNY. They have to give over their meat to "approved" meat processors. All praise High Cunt Hochul and the PRNY.

I'm going to be getting some things from Famous Amos's farm soon:

https://amosmillerorganicfarm.com/

The Pennsylvania dept of agriculture nazis have been trying to put them out of business. Robert Barnes has been suing for them:

The attack on our food is real.

Thankfully, Barnes is a bad ass.

The Dept agr and fda goons have been waging war on small raw/direct farmers forever, but it has never been worse than since demonrats took office. I used to buy raw milk from WF and other stores until they made it almost impossible for these stores to carry it and for farmers to sell it. There hasn't been a single case of salmonella or e coli sickness from raw milk in decades and in 50 years you can maybe find a handful of cases if at all. Fuck these goons and long live small farmers

Around here, there are still small shops that will process deer for you. During survival training, I remember filling small sections of intestine with blood, letting it dry, then hanging it in a parachute material teepee along with strips of cut meat to smoke with aspen bark. The "sausage" and meat strips self-seasoned with the aspen smoke and tasted surprisingly good.
