Alaska instituted ranked choice voting JUST to keep Murkowski in office. You can see what happened here:

She was nominated by her Father into his Senate seat. Literally. Frank Murkowski appointed his daughter a Senator when he won the Governorship.

There's only about 300K people in the whole State.

Competency in most areas outside of the petroleum industry is close to nonexistent.

It's not the least populous state, however. Wyoming is.

90% of Alaska's population isn't hardy frontiersmen, but suburbanites in Juneau and Anchorage living not much differently than Seatle-ites and British Columbians

She's a despicable RINO hag; a pox on her.

Well, it's more than that, but still extremely low for such a huge state:

In 2022, the population of Alaska was 733,583, a 0.08% decrease year-by-year from 2021. Previously, in 2021, Alaska population was 734,182, an increase of 0.17% compared to a population of 732,923 in 2020.

Not on topic, but Alaska is a tourist state. And most the people that live there are bat shit crazy. I know of one that moved to IL in her younger years (boomer) born and raised till 25 there and she's in an institution. If born and raised there you're generally fucked up. It's a place to get in and out, enjoy the scenery but don't stay.

3-4 hours of sunlight this time of year is not healthy. And 20 hours of sunlight isn't either in the summer. So it's no wonder she's a fucking moron. I mean did anyone think Sarah Palin was the sharpest knife in the drawer?

Alaska should have been a territory like Puerto Rico and Guam and others. Two Senators from there is like your local grocery store hiring the local retards to bag groceries. I think the same of Hawaii. Tulsi seemed fine as a Democrat I guess, but both states are so isolated from the reality of them mainland. Just as the coastal areas are. That food you eat, that's the midwest. I can live without almonds, wine and maple syrup. Cows, pigs, chicken, corn, wheat, etc.

I actually even wonder if the Senator has even been to Florida? CA, HI and Mexico are closer for warm trips. I'd actually love to know where Congress have traveled in their life. Would be interesting. I've been to all lower 48. Some not in a while, but I have a decent grasp of the entire country.

In all honesty, all two people I knew from Alaska were certified nuts.

Murkowski, who voted against Kavanaugh, to impeach Trump, and now, to refuse Hegseth.

She did vote for Tranny Rachel as Surgeon General and Kentaji Netflix Adaptation Brown for SCOTUS

Just a good moderate Republican, amirite?

Don't know if I'm repeating my other comment but this is 100% true. It has to be the darkness in the winter and daylight in the summer. I'd easily go crazy. IL is bad, but not that bad. It's really not a suitable place to live if you think about it.

Republican Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski joined with a foreign lawmaker on Monday to dismiss President Donald Trump’s quest to acquire Greenland, saying in a joint statement that the Danish territory is “not for sale.” ...

“Of course, a businessman turned president would be interested,” Murkowski and her Danish colleague wrote in a joint statement. “But Greenland is not for sale. The question has been asked and firmly answered by the government of Greenland, Naalakkersuisut.

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) has just thrown a curveball by teaming up with Senate Democrats to demand back pay for furloughed federal workers amid a grinding government shutdown.

As the shutdown drags into its third week, Murkowski became the lone Republican to sign a bipartisan letter pressing the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to ensure back wages for the 2.2 million federal employees caught in the crossfire.

Earlier this month, the OMB fired off a memo suggesting that back pay for furloughed workers hinges on Congress passing new appropriations.

The stance sparked uncertainty and frustration among Democrats and now, apparently, Murkowski.

Murkowski is actually a Democrat underneath a thin veneer of Republican.
