Just in time to save the day by supplying direly needed nourishment to a starving society.

We should all praise them for feeding us bugs during this period of really bad luck where food processors seem to keep oddly blowing up every day, causing a shortage.

"Dont be selfish. Replace 20% of your meat with bugs."

"Whyte supremacists are hoarding all the beef and chicken, and leaving nothing but Cricket Pâté for the black people. They do it because they hate black people."

"Having trouble getting your child to eat their tube of bug paste? This is because whyte supremacy has influenced them into thinking the food is low status. We must stop whyte supremacy."

Crickets and I think Cochroaches have chitin or whatever made of the same tissue as shellfish, which can trigger an allergic reaction in some, possibly fatal.

Risks to eating crickets?

One of the biggest issues is that crickets have been shown to be carriers of various pathogens

One study found parasites in more than 81% of the insect farms. In 30% of those cases, those parasites found could potentially cause disease in humans

Hmm, now they may suggest switching to roaches. How about rats?

Don't people in 3rd world countries eat bugs all the time?

I believe most parasite infections are also in 3rd world countries.

Not much good meat on a rat. I hear they taste like squirrel.

I don't think they'll enforce the rooster laws if people start getting hungry.

Chickens are excellent sources of protein and relatively easy to produce. They eat bugs too.

Chickens are amazing. They grow really fast, lay eggs (well, half of them do), and thrive on grass and bugs.

Downsides are the shit they produce (great fertilizer though) and the need to keep them safe from raccoons and the like.
