Pfizer’s Q2 earnings numbers parallel that of a top 5 global energy company. Of course, the slight difference here is that energy companies actually provide essential services for human flourishing, while Pfizer provides, well, government-backed snake oil.

This quarter, the drug company posted a total revenue of $27.7 billion, up 46.5% from $18.9 billion the same period of last year.

Net income is up 78% to $9.9 billion this quarter, from $5.5 billion in Q2 of 2021.

While many Americans are struggling to put food on the table, Pfizer’s taxpayer-supplied profits almost doubled year over year.

Notably, none of Pfizer’s profits come from free market activity.

More than half of all Pfizer sales, and all of its profits, come from its expired mRNA gene therapy injections and Paxlovid. The outfit has fully transformed into a COVID-19 company. Without COVID Mania, the rest of Pfizer’s product line would see the pharma giant without any income this year.

Business is booming for the taxpayer-funded, liability-free drug company. Just last month, the Biden Administration signed a deal with Pfizer that hiked the price of more than 50% extra per dose for Pfizer’s next batch of mRNA shots.

It’s a truly stunning outcome for a company that once claimed to have produced the cure for the coronavirus, but has in reality supplied an ineffective gene therapy with a massive side effect profile.

Those are terrible, terrible numbers – orders of magnitude above what we’d expect in this demographic, which faces essentially no risk from Corona infection.

The MSM and the Democrats are shrilly yelling that the Inflation Reduction Act will lower the price of medications by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with the pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Written in the Act it is for only a handful of drugs.

In reality, since this is supposed to start in 2026, it isn't ever going to happen as I am sure this provision will be done away with sometime in the next 4 years.

Once the government starts giving away "free" benefits, it is really hard to reign them in.

As an example, when Obamacare was enacted the price tag was supposed to be revenue neutral. The extra capital gains taxes would pay for the program we were told. Even though the initial costs would be higher than the taxes raised, a large portion of the subsidies would be dropped in 2023 making the program at no new cost for the government.

Well, the Democrats just passes the Inflation Reduction Act. This extended the Obamacare subsidies along with a host of additional government spending. This new spending is supposed to be revenue neutral because they are raising taxes to pay for it. The spending initially will be higher than the taxes raised, but the subsidies and additional spending will drop off after a period of time.

Since the Obamacare Act has proven itself not to be revenue neutral, it really should be dis-allowed as it did not follow the law pertaining to the budget.

Does anyone think for a moment that the spending in the Inflation Reduction Act will ever stop???????

You know, Amtrak would be a lot nicer if they got some first class cars from Europe. I have traveled in a roomette before, but they are from the early 1970s. They are comfortable, but a bit outdated and cramped. They could have been designed quite a bit better.

They also have terrible marketing. Somebody that has never traveled by train before will be wondering what the layout of a roomette is, you'd think that would be on the Amtrak site, instead you just get some pictures where you can't really tell how things fit.

If ya think the US is corrupt, just look at China.

You'd figure something might be totally fucked up if over 600000 bureaucrats per year are brought up on corruption charges.
