Hawaii Senate Dem Majority Leader Gets 3 Years in Prison for Bribery

Former Senate Majority Leader J. Kalani English, 55, pleaded guilty to honest services wire fraud in February, admitting he accepted bribes from a Hawaii business owner in exchange for shaping legislation that would benefit a company involved in publicly financed cesspool conversion projects...

English “peddled the power and influence of his position as a Hawaii State Senator and Majority Leader to enrich himself and betray the trust bestowed upon him by those he was elected to serve,” U.S. prosecutors said in a sentencing memo urging the judge to send him to prison for three-and-a-half years.

The sentence, a little more than three years, must send a “stern and lasting message” that corruption of elected officials will be punished, the memo said. ...

Choy is a prolific donor, as are his immediate family members and business associates. Choy, his family members, and his employees from various companies have donated more than $356,000 to political campaigns since 2014, according to campaign finance data. Of that, Choy has contributed more than $160,000 to the elections and reelections of numerous Democrats.

Choy himself has donated to 55 campaigns — including 29 sitting lawmakers — since 2014. Money has gone to former Gov. Neil Abercrombie and current Gov. David Ige. He has most recently contributed to former Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s campaign for governor, and to Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s campaign.

"Stern and lasting message" my ass. Only life in prison will do. Singapore is a much better country than the US in this way.

$70 billion in US manufacturing is a huge amount for Pfizer. Its total market cap is only $154 billion. With lowered drug prices on top of that, it sounds like Trump was extorting Pfizer not the other way around.

If a foreign visitor—one with good powers of observation and reasoning—were assigned the mission of ascertaining the two most powerful interests being brought to bear on the Trump administration, he would almost certainly conclude “those in the business of making and administering vaccines, and those in the business of waging war.”

In the last few weeks, President Trump has:

1). Hosted Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla at the White House and thanked him.

2). Declared that he received a COVID-19 booster shot.

3). Encouraged Ukraine to keep fighting the Russians, and offered to sell NATO all the weapons it wants for the fight. Given that the U.S. is by far the largest member of NATO, with by far the most command and control of the organization, this can only be viewed by Russia as further U.S. escalation.

4). Declared that he is contemplating giving Tomahawk long range missiles to Ukraine. Given that Russia cannot ascertain if an incoming Tomahawk is armed with a conventional or nuclear warhead, it can only perceive such a decision is going a major step up the escalation ladder towards tactical and strategic nukes.

One president passeth away, and another president cometh: but the COVID-19 vaccine abideth for ever.

And so, when the chips are down, it seems that the Vaccine & War Cartels have the final say in the affairs of state. All of the U.S. government’s “Forever Wars” Fiascos since 2001—and the twin fiascos of the childhood autism epidemic and the COVID-19 gene shot debacle—have not diminished the power of these cartels by one iota.

Why are the Vaccine and War Cartels so strong?

California Medicaid Provider Pays Parents Hundreds of Dollars to Vaccinate Their Kids

An investigation by The Defender revealed that one of the largest Medicaid plans in the U.S. offers parents hundreds of dollars in gift cards when their children get certain vaccines.

One of the largest Medicaid health plans in the U.S. is paying low-income parents hundreds of dollars in gift cards to vaccinate their children, an investigation by The Defender found.

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) — which serves about 1.6 million people in Southern California — gives parents a $200 gift card when their baby receives a flu shot and the rotavirus series of shots by age 1, according to its 2025 Medi-Cal Member Incentive FAQs sent to all of IEHP’s general practitioners, family practitioners and pediatricians.

IEHP also gives a $50 gift card when a 12- or 13-year-old receives the first dose of the HPV vaccine, and an additional $150 gift card if the pre-teen completes the two- or three-dose series by age 13.

Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., Children’s Health Defense’s (CHD) senior research scientist, said IEHP is undermining true informed consent.

“An incentivized parent choosing vaccination is not medical decision-making — it’s economic decision-making,” he said. “In the case of low-income Medicaid families, that incentive may look more like an undue influence.”

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier are among more than 30 people charged in connection with schemes involving illegal sports betting and rigged poker games backed by Mafia, authorities said on Thursday.

Rozier is accused in participating in an illegal sports betting scheme using private insider NBA information, officials said. Billups is charged in a separate indictment alleging a wide-ranging scheme to rig underground poker games that were backed by Mafia families, authorities said. ...

In the sports betting scheme, players sometimes altered their performance or took themselves out of games early, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. In one instance, Rozier, while playing for the Hornets, told other he was planning to leave the game early with a “supposed injury,” allowing others to place wagers that raked in thousands of dollars, Tisch said.

It was a five-year looting spree, plain and simple. The Us is now bankrupt - why else would gold be over $4k an ounce?

Maybe a combo of democracy + authoritarianism is necessary for a limited time run by a pro-nation leader.

It will take a generation or more to undo the damage wrought in the last decade alone. We had a de facto "Cultural Revolution" that is only now winding down, not ended. The generation molded by this cultural revolution, the Pantifa cohort, is pretty much a write-off. Their minds and their ethics have been destroyed, and they are pretty much unfit for any type of productive activity.

Wearing a crazy wig and glasses —you gotta love him— O’Keefe had a wine lunch with Anish Abraham, the “senior director” of a corporate parasite called ATI Government Solutions. The undercover footage captured Abraham admitting that a $100 million IRS contract was split— 65% pure profit to minority-owned ATI (for doing nothing), with 35% paid to Accenture to do the actual work. The deal leveraged an 8(a) Native American-owned minority status to evade oversight, but may have violated an SBA rule requiring a minimum of 51% in-house performance.

ATI has been awarded over $500 million in federal contracts since 2018. So. Your taxes, hardly at work.

Accenture, which is largely viewed as a legitimate provider, itself has over $1.5 billion in federal contracts. It locked its corporate X account after O’Keefe’s exposé released. Accenture is a gigantic tech-consulting spinoff from Arthur Anderson that provides oodles of services to government and Fortune 100 companies.

Commenters were mixed on whether ATI’s arrangement was legal or not, but everyone agreed that paying a $65 million profit to a minority company for $35 million of actual work from a top provider was plain wrong.

Stealing $5 million in taxpayer funds from disaster relief efforts ??? - Sure happens all the time.

Using some of that money for your political campaign ???? -- As long as your party controls the DoJ.

When the other party gets a hold of the FBI ???? --- Welllllllll

Yep. We really need to get a grip on Education, starting by dismantling the Dept of Ed.

Red States RIGHT NOW can fix their curriculum. Total ignorance of the Founding Fathers and US History is a massive problem.

With 2026 being the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence as well as a midterm election cycle - sit back and enjoy the fireworks, because it will be a doozy.

Joe Biden with less than $40M of KGB money channeled to him through Hunter is a fucking amateur:

At the centre of President Trump's controversial plan to end the Russia‑Ukraine war is not peace but profit. A detailed Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have been negotiating with Russian officials to secure lucrative opportunities for US businesses—and Trump's close associates—once the conflict comes to an end.

The report outlines how the discussions are focused on revitalising Russia's $2 trillion (£1.6 trillion) economy through joint ventures with American firms. Central to the talks is $300 billion (£240 billion) in frozen Russian central bank assets, which Moscow hopes to channel into US‑led investment projects ...

Profit Over Peace

Witkoff, a property developer and Trump confidant, told the Journal: 'Russia has so many vast resources, vast expanses of land... If we do all that, and everybody's prospering and they're all a part of it, and there's upside for everybody, that's going to naturally be a bulwark against future conflicts there. Because everybody's thriving.'

His comments highlight the emphasis on profit as a stabilising force. Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund, has reportedly proposed ventures ranging from exploiting Arctic mineral reserves to partnering with SpaceX on a joint mission to Mars.

Money from such projects would flow to Trump's allies and donors. Gentry Beach, a college friend of Donald Trump Jr and the founder of America First Global, is said to be in talks to acquire a stake in a Russian Arctic gas project if sanctions are lifted. Trump megadonor Stephen P Lynch has been working with Trump Jr to purchase the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, a critical energy link to Europe.

Oh, give me a break. After all the war grift going on with Ukraine you want to slam someone for wanting to do business with after-war Russia? The US is also looking at post war business in Ukraine.

Obama DEA Official Indicted For Laundering Money For Mexican Drug Cartel

The Department of Justice announced that a former top Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) official who retired near the end of the Obama administration has been indicted on multiple charges, including conspiracy to engage in narcoterrorism, money laundering and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

DEA Administrator Terrance C. Cole and United States Attorney Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York revealed the indictment of Paul Campo in a Friday evening release, saying he agreed to help the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) launder $12 million in proceeds from drug trafficking. The DOJ said that Campo, who served as Deputy Chief of the Office of Financial Operations at the DEA, also advised CJNG on acquiring drones and assault rifles after Robert Sensi — an associate of Campo — put him in touch with a representative of the cartel. ...

The indictment alleges that Campo and Sensi met with the CJNG representative to advise them on laundering the funds through cryptocurrency purchases, real estate investments, pre-paid gift cards and assisted in three transactions involving $750,000. The indictment states that Campo and Sensi believed that the third and final transaction would trigger a shipment of about $5 million worth of cocaine, and that they would receive a portion of the proceeds.

“By participating in this scheme, Campo betrayed the mission he was entrusted with pursuing for his 25-year career with the DEA,” Clayton said. “CJNG is a violent and corrupting criminal enterprise that New Yorkers want broken. I commend the extraordinary efforts of the DEA in aggressively pursuing CJNG and those who support their deadly and corrupt efforts, no matter who they may be.”

If convicted, Campo and Sensi could face up to life in prison, according to the DOJ release.

On Sunday, Tribal Business News ran a distraught story headlined, “SBA orders 8(a) firms to submit financial records by Jan. 5, raising stakes for tribal contractors.” ...

The SBA’s 8(a) program is aimed at “small disadvantaged businesses,” generally meaning 51% “minority owned.” Among a slew of business development benefits, the biggest is federal contracting privileges, which helps them get sole-source contracts of up to $7 million each, with “lifetime caps” in the hundreds of millions per individual. According to the article, Indian (tribal) businesses alone got $23 billion in contract awards in 2023.

In case you were wondering, the 8(a) program itself is racist, a de facto racial spoils system, and is probably unconstitutional ...

A few weeks back, James O’Keefe of OMG —wearing an especially cunning disguise— broke the scandal with an undercover video of some diverse folks bragging about being 51% minority owners of companies with 8(a) no-bid contracts. They said it was easy, they do nothing more than pass contracts to subcontractors after depositing their cut. “I sit back, collect my percentage, and they do the work,” one subject said. ...

Anyway, this week, Trump’s SBA Director Kelly Loefler sent notices to all 8(a) companies, roughly 4,300 of them, requiring submission of three years of general ledgers, bank statements, payroll registers, employment records, and subcontracting agreements by January 5th, or risk losing access to the program. Submitting false information creates potential criminal liability for lying to federal employees.

Now, using AI, the SBA can actually do something with all those records. There is much speculation online about all the technical implications.

t's always funny to watch billionaires waste huge amounts of money. In the end they really don't care that they lost billions, they just like to play the part of Big Shots.

Take Paramount's bid for Warner Bros. Paramount is worth about $15 billion, Warner Bros about $75 billion. Just based on the scale alone the CEO of Paramount is outta his depth. However, he got the President's son to connect him with some Arab sheiks and suddenly he has the financing to make an all cash bid for Warner Bros.

I don't really care for the Woke crap Warner Bros does but if this deal goes through, nobody currently working for Warner Bros is gonna give a shit about anything.

Makes me giggle to see Trump saying that the Netflix offer for Warner Bros may cause Anti-trust concerns when his son is on the opposing team.

Billionaires - Sheesh -- and to think a little over a year ago people's panties were in a wad because Hunter was selling paintings for $250k a pop.
